(1 Customer Review)
Issued in 2003, THE LAST DON is a key album in the rise of reggaeton, and it elevated Don Omar to widespread recognition, both in and beyond his native Puerto Rico. Boasting sterling examples of the style's engaging mix of hip-hop, dancehall reggae, and traditional Latin music, the record serves as a nonstop party mix en Espanol, with highlights such as the shuffling "Intocable" and the immediately catchy "Dale Don Dale." Although Don Omar would expand his sound on subsequent releases, this outing remains one of the singer/rapper's undisputed classics. (Note: The '06 GOLD SERIES reissue of THE LAST DON includes two bonus tracks.)
Personnel includes: Don Omar, Eliel, Luny Tun, Noriega.

Last Don music CDs
$12.79 After being discovered at a karaoke competition in the mid-90s, Keali'i Reichel rose quickly to the highest pinnacles of Hawaiian superstardom. His first album, Kawaipunahele, is already a Hawaiian classic. Locals from Honolulu to Kaunakakai own a copy of the album, radio stations play the songs incessantly, and any tourist who sets foot in a music store is likely to walk out with the CD. Reichel goes for the tried-and-true formula: mellow songs, tropical island stylings and sweet, piping Hawaiian vocal tones. A lot of these songs are reminiscent of former Top 40 hits from the mainland, but only a few of them are actually covers. A couple of notable cover tunes are "In My Life," a Beatles tune which has had a Hawaiian verse added, and "If We Hold On Together," which is performed as a duet with Lorna Lim. Most of the songs have Hawaiian lyrics that are completely unintelligible, but it really doesn't matter. They all talk about the same things: romance, friendship, and the beauty of the Hawaiian Islands. It's nearly impossible to find this album offensive or intrusive. The lyrics are strictly PG-rated, the music is pretty, and the tone remains even-keel throughout. Like as not, that is why the album has become one of the `must-have' albums for visitors to Hawaii. ~ L. Katz
Keali`i was born and raised on Maui, growing up in Lahaina and spending weekends and summers at his grandmother's house in Pa`ia on the windward side of the island. His passion for the language and culture of Hawai`i led him to become the founding director for Punana Leo O Maui, the Hawaiian language immersion school. He also founded his own hula school, Halau Ke`alaokamaile, in 1980 and has won numerous awards over the years. Keali`i is also recognized as one of only five Master Chanters in Hawai`i.In 1994 he independently produced and released a collection of Hawaiian traditional and contemporary songs and chants entitled "Kawaipunahele." His subsequent music releases, "Lei Hali`a" (1995), "E O Mai" (1997), "Melelana" (1999), and "Ke`alaokamaile (2003) have ...

Last Don CD music
$25.35 Jayne Bryant is an independent singer/songwriter hailing from the creative musical hotspot of Perth, Western Australia.Jayne’s musical dreams began in the lounge room as she’d dance and sing along to every ABBA song there was… It wasn’t until she was completing the third year of her Science Degree University of Western Australia, and the lingering expectation to ‘get a real job’ that she decided to put more of her focus and energy into her musical dreams. Jayne avoided getting a real job by moving to the mecca of Australian Cool (aka Melbourne) to study Music Performance at North Melbourne Institute of Tafe for a year. It was there she first sang in front of people and began writing songs.Jayne returned home to Perth, and with the support of some friends in the local music industry she recorded and released her debut EP called ‘The PCYC Jams’ – named after the Police and Citizens Youth Club in Subiaco which had a magnificently cheap ($2!!) rehearsal room, and where the songs were rehearsed and recorded. The first song on the CD, ‘Girl Next to Me’, won a competition on commercial radio station ‘PMFM 92.9’ winning airplay and inclusion on a compilation CD put out by the station. The local community radio station RTR 92.1 also chose to play all of the songs on the album.‘Goodbye Song’ was nominated for a coveted WAMI (West Australian Music Industry Association) Song-writing Award in 2000.In 2001, these two tracks plus ‘All I Am’, ‘Still Here’ and ‘Fishbowl’ were picked up by Shock Music Publishing for use in the now internationally famous Australian/Canadian ...
