Strange Days album for sale Product Description
Strange Days album for sale by Doors was released Aug 30, 2005 on the Phantom label. The Doors' second album redefined their uncompromising art. The disturbing timbre of Ray Manzarek's organ work provided the musical cloak through which guitarist Robbie Kreiger and vocalist Jim Morrison projected. Few singers in rock possessed his authority, where every nuance and inflection bore an emotional intensity. STRANGE DAYS contains some of the quartet's finest work, from the apocolyptic vision of the epic "When The Music's Over" to the memorable quirkiness of "People Are Strange" and "Moonlight Drive." The graphic "Horse Latitudes," meanwhile, confirmed Morrison's wish to be viewed as a poet, a stance ensuring that the Doors would always be more than just another rock band. ...See Full Description

| The Doors in their experimental stage "Strange Days" is an exact definition of where the band was in the latter part of "67". Morrison fueled by acid, really takes off in this lp. songs like: When the music's over, My eyes have see you, Strange days, I can't see your face in my mind. & Kreiger's "Love me two times". In my opinion this is the Doors at their very best !!!!! By condopygmy (Boston,MA.) This review is for a different format. |
| Ahead of it's time! The Doors put music to "Beat" generation poetry and Morrison was the word smith that made it all possable. The music/poetry of "Strange Days" hearlded a new generation of musicians and artists that have ever since tried to recapture the lyrical genius that was Morrison and the Doors. It's no wonder that a whole new group of young fans have "discovered" the Doors and the poetry of Jim Morrison. This music will alway's be ahead of it's time. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! | Strong sophomore effort! "Strange Days" picks up where "The Doors" left off, an extremely powerful and cohesive set (the majority of the songs were written at the same time as the first album's). In fact, the music is more unnerving and creepier than that of "The Doors"; just check out the lyrical impact of tunes such as the title cut, "I Can't See Your Face In My Mind" and of the course the dionysian epic closer "When The Music's Over". The melodies surrounding the words have a strong, uncomfortable ambience and the band resorts to some brilliant studio machinations: early Moog synthesizer, processed vocals, backwards piano, the use of marimba and the hallucinatory shriek that is "Horse Latitudes". The brilliant Fellini-esque album cover provides a perfect backdrop for the circus of horrors that lurk within. A well-done effort; a perfect manner to slam the door shut on 1967. | Very cool album Many people say that L.A. Woman is tghe Doors' best album ever...perhaps they haven't listened to this one! "My eyes have seen you" is one of the most underrated psychedelic tunes in rock history and in my opinion, the most psych tune in all Doors' repertoire. Other very good vibe songs are "People are strange" and "Strange days" among others. A MUST! By dragstripfreaky (Sydney, Australia) This review is for a different format. |
| Relaxing and Smooth!!! The second album by the Doors. It is very smooth and relaxing. It is cool and easy. This is a must for any Doors fan. Please pick up on CD. By jejr9 (Irvine) This review is for a different format. |
