I don't believe I could have been more thrilled when I saw they had released Kolchak: The Night Stalker on a DVD box set.

Darrin makes it all so easy as he is the original ghost hunter, vampire slayer or x-files hero. There is a movie called The Norliss tapes here at CDU with Roy Thinnes and Angie Dickenson which was made by Dan Curtis before this series and may have been the series Curtis had in mind but changed it to Kolchak.

| Outstanding 70's horror!
Darren McGavin is terrific as Carl Kolchak reporter for INS in Chicago snooping into wacko stories of Zombies, Vampires, aliens & all else supernatural! If you like Columbo and horror films this is a very good 17 hours of entertainment.

This TV series along with the two movies that Darren McGavin starred in as Carl Kolchak inspired both "The X-Files" and the shortlived "Night Stalker" TV series.
