Hitman DVD Hitman, The
Chuck Norris proves he has nine lives and an alter ego in this hard-hitting thriller set in the dark underworld of warring mobs in the Pacific Northwest and Canada.
Good cop Cliff Garrett (Norris) is betrayed and left for dead by his crooked partner (Michael Parks). Miraculously he survives - and thunderously he'll have his revenge. Going undercover as a cold-as-ice, precision hitman for hire by the mob, he earns the reputation and trust needed to infiltrate the city's murderous, drug-dealing criminal infrastructure. It's all prelude to bringing it all down - in unmistakably lean, mean Norris style.

$6.55 Six-time World Karate Champion Chuck Norris is a small town sheriff Dan Stevens, a man whose job gets increasingly more difficult after he shoots murderer John Kirby (Brain Libby) at the scene of the crime. After Kirby's body is taken to a local medical institute, a trio of local scientists try out a new serum on the murderer's body which both revives him and causes any injuries he obtains to quickly heal. The reanimated, and now seemingly indestructible, murderer kills the doctors and escapes, leaving an increasing number of corpses in his wake. This combination of FRANKENSTEIN, HALLOWEEN, and martial arts was the first in a profitable string of pictures for Norris.

$6.99 Chuck Norris is John Shepherd, a free agent, a former cop working as a private investigator and, of course, one bad dude. He allies himself with a diamond cutter against a ruthless former SS soldier, who is searching for a valuable artifact. There is a great deal of shooting and fighting during which Shepherd mows down his adversaries and emerges unscathed--in short, a quintessential Chuck Norris film.

$10.75 The job of standing-in for an actress when a dangerous event needs portraying on the big screen is not a position for the fainthearted. Jeannie Epper and Zoe Bell are fully qualified stuntwomen who often have to fulfill such positions, counting appearances in films and television shows such as KILL BILL, WONDER WOMAN, and XENA: WARRIOR PRINCESS on their collected resumes. This documentary takes a look at the lives of Jeannie and Zoe as they attempt to find employment, stay in shape, and battle against a male-dominated stunt world that frequently favors men over women. Director Amanda Micheli casts a sympathetic eye over the plight of the two women, with her movie providing some little-known facts about an area of the film industry that is rarely discussed.

| | Gantz - Vol. 7: Fatal Attractions DVD (2004)
Hitman review
$19.55 Director Ichiro Itano presents a hellish vision of the afterlife in the brutal horror anime series GANTZ. High school student Kei and his childhood friend Kato are helping a hobo who has fallen onto the subway tracks when they are run over and violently decapitated by an oncoming train in a spectacularly grisly fashion. Transported to a strange post-death limbo, the pair find themselves in a barren room overlooking Tokyo with a motley group of strangers--including two hotheaded gangsters and a naked young girl, whom they immediately try to rape--as well as a mysterious black sphere known as Gantz. Kei and Kato soon discover that they and the room's occupants are all dead and have been brought there by Gantz as part of a secret government plot to kill criminal aliens that roam the earth--and that if they refuse their deadly missions, they face a fate even worse than death. Moody, stylish, and animated with veritable buckets of crimson blood, GANTZ plays like a twisted hybrid of YU YU HAKUSHO and LA FEMME NIKITA, with graphic violence and nudity deemed too graphic to be aired on Japanese television without major edits and re-cropping. Produced by the team behind CHRONO CRUSADE and PEACEMAKER, this collection continues the series with four more uncut and unedited episodes.
