DARK LIGHT's polished production probably has Finnish Goth-rock outfit HIM's like-minded countrymen spinning in their daytime coffins. While their peers tend to indulge in more earthy (not to say deafening) music-making methods, HIM's pristine washes of keyboards sound dangerously sunny on the sparkling "Wings of a Butterfly," while the gorgeously romantic title track wouldn't sound out of place on an old episode of BUFFY. Glossy and user-friendly, HIM are the gentler (if not kinder) side of devil worship.

The is Dan "The Man" Westover telling you to buy this CD! Ville is sexy, the cd makes me get naked and look at my HIM posters. The sound is authentic HIM, yet it has a different flow and feel. I saw Ville at a concert, I was on the balcony, but he looked right at me when he was singing "My Sweet 666!" He wants me. HIM has a good a chance of topping this CD as I have of being on top of Ville! (A really good one!!) This is Dan "The Man" Westover, still thinking about Ville!

excellent album, specially if you are into goth...it's not metal, maybe fits better into hard rock, but dark and moody...awesome...go for it...

Awesum band
I just bought this cd and i don't believe that they're santanistic or whatever. I believe in god and are a christian. I love this band bc their lyrics are just what i write about and feel sometimes. You just gotta let ur feelings out sometimes and i think they do a great job. They are my new fave band. Oh yeah and they call theirselves HIM bc it stands for His Infernal Majesty. Buy the cd cause i guarantee u'll love it.

Even though H.I.M.'s main goal seems to be gaining attention from a female audience, Greatest Lovesongs sure was artistically a success. The contrast between Razorblade Romance and the debut, however, is quite large. Melancholy and angst seem a little artificial, while Greatest Lovesongs had a truly pressuring atmosphere all the time. Razorblade Romance forgets all about that, and the whole concept of gothic rock and so-called love metal repeats itself many times during the album. But the songs ...

A lot of people have the propensity to give H.I.M. unnecessary doses of grief simply because of the band's friendship and professional allegiance to pro skater Bam Margera. What's unfortunate about this is that H.I.M. actually produces dramatic metal of high sonic quality, and once again Love Metal further reinforces that notion. Going one better than Razorblade Romance, Ville Valo and company waste no time bringing out the big guns with "Buried Alive By Love," which easily measures up to the group's most well-known moments. The songwriting is as strong as it has been in quite some time and a newly found sense of urgency keeps the record going at a well-tempered pace. Released in September 2005, Hinder's Extreme Behavior revives the riffs and misogynistic tone of 2001 albums from Puddle of Mudd and Nickelback for a whole new batch of undergrads. This isn't so much post-grunge as it is straight-up dude rock. The artwork is a triggered response collage of lingerie and Jäger, and the music blares like a stereo left on in the keg room, all swear words and electric guitar blab. Hinder singer Austin Winkler is a stand-in for Nickelback's Chad Kroeger, and his lyrics? Like the chorus of lead single "Get Stoned" that asserts sex is better when the participants are angry and high, Winkler doesn't show a lot of class on Behavior.
