Mahogany Movie Review Average Rating: (4.5 out of 5 stars) a great pairing, Diana & Billy This movie came as a surprise to me....i remember thinking when I first seen it that it was probably going to be corny, and i was wrong. Diana Ross really could have gone on to be a great actress. She lights up the screen when she comes on! Her and Billy D. Williams have a great commeraderie and look as though they could be lovers off screen too!!! I just learned that the movie The Bodyguard was originally written in 1975 for Steve McQueen and Diana Ross!!! I wish it would have come true... instead of The Wiz! $9.85 Clyde Williams (Sidney Poitier) and Billy Foster (Bill Cosby) belong to a community group called The Sons and Daughters of Shaka. The city of Atlanta has plans to take away the group's meeting place, and The Sons and Daughters of Shaka don't have the money to finance a new one. Clyde and Billy come up with a hair-brained scheme to raise money for a new lodge hall by fixing a boxing match. Their plan is to hypnotize a weakling boxer and make him think he's unbeatable. Mahogany movie DVD
$19.49 Based on Sam Greenlee's controversial novel, THE SPOOK WHO SAT BY THE DOOR is a hard-hitting shocker that depicts a world in which the long-suppressed black man fights back with a vengeance. Director Ivan Dixon's uncompromising adaptation was relegated to bottom-rung status upon its release, and it subsequently slipped into oblivion for decades until the film was rediscovered and released on DVD in 2004. Lawrence Cook plays Dan Freeman, a head-nodding, smiling African-American who impresses his CIA cohorts with his winning demeanor. What they don't realize is that ...

Mahogany film
$10.79 Recorded in 1972 but not properly released until 2006, Diana Ross's BLUE was originally conceived as an addendum to the former Supreme's starring role as Billie Holiday in the film LADY SINGS THE BLUES. While the soundtrack to the film found Ross delivering pop-centric versions of Holiday's songs, BLUE offers a jazzier take on the material, providing a more appropriate tribute to Holiday's legacy.

Mahogany review
$5.69 The Martin Lawrence comedy BLACK KNIGHT, sharply directed by Gil Junger, borrows its theme from A CONNECTICUT YANKEE AT KING ARTHUR'S COURT, with Mark Twain's Yankee being replaced by Jamal Walker (Lawrence). Jamal works at a decrepit California theme park in danger of being put out of business by a rival park. Cleaning Medieval World's moat, he falls into the water, only to recover in 14th-century England. There, Jamal meets Sir Knolte (Tom Wilkinson), a dissolute knight, before he stumbles into the court of the usurper King Leo (Kevin Conway). Jamal is impressed by what he thinks is the realism of the theme park; only after witnessing a gory beheading does he realize, with ...
