Essential Frank Sinatra with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra album for sale Product Description
Essential Frank Sinatra with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra album for sale by Frank Sinatra was released Oct 04, 2005 on the Bluebird/Legacy label. This collection is an ideal introduction to "phase one" of Frank Sinatra's lengthy career--the "band singer," as vocalists with big bands were known during the Swing Era (1935-1946). The worldly, ring-a-ding-ding vocal icon would not evolve until the '50s--these '40s recordings of Tommy Dorsey's Orchestra feature Sinatra as a creamy-smooth, starry-eyed, mellow crooner, his vocal phrasing influenced by the sweet, melodious tones of Dorsey's trombone. Essential Frank Sinatra with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra CD music is a 2-disc set with 44 songs. ...See Full Description

Beatles Capitol Albums, Vol. 1 CDs (2004)
Essential Frank Sinatra with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra CD music Includes both stereo and mono versions of the USA-only albums MEET THE BEATLES (1964), THE BEATLES' SECOND ALBUM (1964), SOMETHING NEW (1964), and BEATLES '65 (1964), and a 60 page booklet including rare photos and select quotes from John, Paul, George and Ringo.
All tracks have been digitally mastered using 24-bit technology.
Although America wasn't the first to catch on to the Beatles, it certainly gave the Fabs a worldwide stage from which to launch their pop music invasion. During the space of 12 months in 1964, Capitol released four Beatles LPs that reshuffled various British Parlophone LPs, EPs, and singles. The result of this rejiggering was four unique titles that, along with those famed Ed Sullivan performances, were the introduction to this global phenomenon for millions in the United States. For the 40th anniversary of these releases, this 2004 set represents the first time these titles were ever available on CD, and features both mono and stereo (or "duophonic") versions of all the songs.
Because of the Beatles' enthusiasm, high standards, and synergy, these evergreen tracks crackle and burn, guaranteeing giddy, joyous memories for some, while also enlisting new fans. Among the many classics are the groundbreaking single, "I Want to Hold Your Hand," and other romantic rockers ("I Saw Her Standing There," "She Loves You," "All My Loving"), as well as cover tunes ("Long Tall Sally," "Roll Over Beethoven") and lesser-known songs ("Any Time at All," "I'll Follow the Sun"). The boys had been tirelessly working the nightclub trenches for a number of years prior to these albums, but, in truth, John, Paul, George, and Ringo were just getting started.

Jimmy Durante As Time Goes By: The Best of Jimmy Durante CD (1993) Top Seller
Essential Frank Sinatra with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra buy CD music It is said that a truly great comedian can draw not only laughter, but also tears from their audience. This is certainly true of Charlie Chaplin, and is no less true of Jimmy Durante, a man whose face, voice, and demeanor were at once comic and tragic. AS TIME GOES BY: THE BEST OF JIMMY DURANTE bears witness to the magical combination of these qualities in the man they called the Schnozz.
Collected here are 12 recordings mostly from the 1950s, all classic renditions of the standards that made Durante famous. "September Song" and Chaplin's "Smile" are superb vehicles for Durante's heart-rending yet simple intonations. Also present are the sad sack love songs "Hello, Young Lovers" and "If I Had You," each as perfect for Durante as if they had been written specifically for him. "I'll See You in My Dreams" rounds out the collection, ending, naturally, with a sweet goodnight to Mrs. Callabash.

Rolling Stones Aftermath CD (1966)
Essential Frank Sinatra with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra songs The Rolling Stones' first set of all-original material--a full two years after the Beatles had passed that milestone with A HARD DAY'S NIGHT--1966's AFTERMATH is arguably the Stones' first truly great album, as opposed to a selection of killer singles padded out with some forgettable filler. Not that the singles aren't killers; "Paint It Black" and "Under My Thumb" are two of the Stones' most inventive chart successes, their sitar and marimba touches showing that at least through 1966, the Stones were just as likely as the Beatles, Kinks or Who to release a single that sounded like nothing else on the radio.
Of the album tracks, "Lady Jane" and "Stupid Girl" are standouts, the former another of the boys' Elizabethan oddities and the latter a stomping, snotty garage rocker. Even better, though, are formal experiments like "I Am Waiting," a spooky acoustic tune that sounds like the boys had been listening to George Harrison's Indian excursions. Several of the more blues-based tracks press the five-minute barrier, culminating in the nearly 12-minute blues-rock rave-up "Goin' Home," one of the few extended jams that's actually worth the extra minutes.
Remastered reissue of 1966 album, suitable for standard & 'Super Audio' CD players. Digipak.
Recorded at RCA Studios, Hollywood, California. Includes liner notes by Dave Hassinger.

Johnny Mercer Capitol Collectors Series CD (1989)
Essential Frank Sinatra with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra album for sale Digitally remastered by Larry Walsh (February 1989, Capitol Recording Studios, Hollywood, California).
Given that composer/lyricist/vocalist Johnny Mercer co-founded Capitol Records in the early 1940s, it's very fitting that one of his finest solo releases is entitled CAPITOL COLLECTORS SERIES. Although Mercer is best known as a songwriter, the Georgia native was a fine singer who used his deep voice, deft delivery, and innate Southern charm to wonderful effect, whether performing his own songs or other contemporaneous pop hits.
This 20-track compilation of '40s studio sessions finds Mercer breezing through beloved originals, including the swinging "On the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe" and the dreamy "One for My Baby (And One More for the Road)." Mercer, however, is equally at home as an interpreter, as best revealed on an exuberant rendition of Johnny Burke and Jimmy Van Heusen's "Personality." Mercer's talent as a vocalist isn't so much underrated as it is relatively unknown, but this excellent collection provides ample evidence of his legacy as a recording artist.
Includes liner notes by Steve Kolanjian.

Rosemary Clooney Ring Around Rosie/Hollywood's Best CDs (2000)
Essential Frank Sinatra with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra buy CD music Collectables Records' two-fer CD Ring Around Rosie/Hollywood's Best, credited to Rosemary Clooney "& Friends," combines the singer's first and last album projects for Columbia Records. Hollywood's Best, which paired her with Harry James' trumpet, was first released as an eight-song, 10" LP in 1952 (it was later expanded to a 12-track, 12" LP). Ring Around Rosie, from 1957, matched her up with the jazzy vocal group the Hi-Lo's. These two albums also were Clooney's only ones to reach the Billboard pop charts during the 1950s: Hollywood's Best peaked at number three in 1953, and Ring Around Rosie went to number 14 four years later. As a 24-track, 70-minute CD, the collection is a mixed bag. The original idea of the eight-song Hollywood's Best was to have Clooney and James square off on Oscar-winning compositions, including the newly minted "In the Cool, Cool, Cool of the Evening." In effect, Clooney was serving as James' girl singer on songs that had his 1940s swing sound and distinctive trumpet leads; as a former band singer, she knew just what to do (as can be heard on tracks 13, 14, 16, 18, 19, 20, 22, and 24). When Columbia expanded the album to 12 tracks, the additions were arbitrary, two by Clooney without James (one being her novelty hit "Come On-A My House"), two by James without Clooney. So, the concept went out the window and, in a sense, more was less. Ring Around Rosie, on the other hand, started out with the idea of being one-third Clooney alone (tracks 3, 5, 8, and 11), one-third the Hi-Lo's by themselves (tracks 2, 4, 6, and 9), and only one-third actual collaborations (that would be "Don'cha Go 'Way Mad," "Together," "What Is There to Say?," and "How About You?"). Those four songs are so good they make the listener wish that the whole album had actually featured Clooney and the Hi-Lo's, as billed, even though both were enjoyable separately. Thanks to Collectables, Clooney's Columbia LP catalog is bookended on this CD, with a few extras thrown in. But don't be surprised when the "friends" take over, and Clooney herself is absent for a quarter of the selections. ~ William Ruhlmann
