For his second major release of 2005 (the first being DESDE SIEMPRE), prolific Puerto Rican singer Chayanne turns out another set of soaring ballads and upbeat pop numbers. As always, Chayanne's charming croon is the musical focal point of every song, from the guitar-heavy "No Te Preocupes Por Mi" and the emotive "No Se Por Que" to the Ricky Martin-like dance track "Swing." With its 10 dynamic tunes, CAUTIVO is sure to please Chayanne's legion of adoring fans and maybe win over some new admirers as well.
This dualdisc includes a CD side with the complete 10-track album, and a DVD side featuring the entire album in Enhanced LPCM stereo, plus a day in the real life of Chayanne with an intimate interview and behind the scenes of the recording of the album, photo session, and video taping.

Chayanne delivers once again top rate music. I was actually disappointed with the DVD portion of this purchase as I thought it would have contained music videos to the new songs. However, the CD portion - AWESOME!!!! also purchased a copy for my mother and she loves it too.

Chayanne is amazing
Being a fan of Chayanne since about the same age he started his career about 11 or so, I think he started way ahead of those 1980's time. However I have to agree my tall, handsome, trigeno needs to re-invent himself and/or play around more with other music styles. Maybe he should think about going english/spanish/spanglish. You know what I mean. BUT LOVE HIM, LOVE HIM, LOVE HIM.*

Wow...
What can I say...Usually I like some of the songs from a CD..This time around, I like all of them...I am Cautiva!!! Beautifullll...I have never seen anybody get so much better with age.....

 Are U Kidding Me?
I've been a fan of Chayanne's forever and have always loved his music, however, this cd rubs me the wrong way. All the songs are just recycles of old songs he has done. This cd isn't anything new. It all sounds like the same old same old. I'm waiting for Chayanne to step outside the box and get creative. Many Latin artists today are trying new things to keep their fans interested. I think Chayanne should do the same. I'm disappointed in this cd. Sorry.

Although at first listen La Oreja de Van Gogh's third release might sound like a slick rehashing of the same pop formula that had brought the group consistent commercial success, Lo Que Te Conté Mientras Te Hacías la Dormida (What I Told You While You Pretended to Be Asleep) merits closer attention. Beyond some similarities to their earlier work -- nostalgic lyrics, ridiculously catchy choruses, and lead singer Amaia Montero's seemingly fragile delivery -- this album displays far greater emotional and musical range than do their earlier efforts. Montero and keyboard player Xabi San Martín continue to write most of the music, and guitar player Pablo Benegas most of the lyrics, but there are some notable exceptions, like album opener and first single "Puedes Contar Conmigo" (You Can Count on Me), written entirely by Montero.
