LOS TWANG! MARVELS Are breaking through to the Outer Space with Guitars in Orbit, their debut CD on El Toro Records Reverb Series. Taste the exotic chords of this lovable combo, they rock!Presently living in Germany, the two Marvel guitarreros, Marisol Yolanda and Alex Christian Anthony, initiated the band in summer 2000, trying different line-ups until the needed fuel & fire was found to make the audiences explode and dance beyond limits. In their endless pursuit of good music, they throw in atin melodies mixed up with the spaciest of surf´n´roll and blends of euroinstro, rescuing from the forgotten dimension Uruguayan-Argentinian legends Los Iracundos, Los Bambis, Bingo Reyna and many more as well. What is being said of Los Marvels:"Los Straitjackets were recently in Mexico City and during a radio interview we were asked if we ever see other surf instrumental bands that we like. Danny (Amis) and I both exclaimed 'Los Twang! Marvels'"(Eddie Angel) "In-car listening of the evening: Latin Surf by Los Twang!Marvels. Superb. Very well played, humorous & enough to make the legs snap like whipcords." (Robert Fripp)Enjoy the ride, see you in Orbit!

Purchase Guitars In Orbit CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Susan Boyle I Dreamed A Dream CD (2009)
Guitars In Orbit album
$9.58 Susan Boyle's grand unveiling on Britain's Got Talent was with a song from Les Miserables - the very song that lends this album its title -- and if she could become an international sensation based on a show tune standard, there's no reason for her to change her approach on her debut, since that's the sound that made her a star. Plus, a large part of Boyle's appeal is that she's a middle-aged woman recalling a bygone era when there were singers that appealed to an adult audience by offering ...
| | Jimmy Buffett Buffet Hotel CD (2009)
Guitars In Orbit CD music
$9.74 Since Jimmy Buffett never leaves his comfort zone, it's hard to call 2009's Buffet Hotel a return to roots but, in a way, it is. Discounting the mock rap on "Turn Up the Heat and Chill the Rosé," this album doesn't even have the lingering country and reggae flavors that seasoned 2006's Take the Weather ...

| | Outside The Dream Syndicate (With Faust) CD (1972)
Guitars In Orbit album
$15.05 Not for the faint-hearted, this live document of the collaboration between minimalist composer Tony Conrad, members of the Krautrock band Faust, and indie experimentalist Jim O'Rourke is an artistically compelling exercise in expanding sonic barriers, as well as something of an aural endurance test. O'Rourke plays elongated drones on the violin, Faust hammer away at a primeval pulse, and the two works slowly build to an awe-inspiring climax. The music's polarizing nature is apparent in audible heated arguments among the audience between pieces--love it or hate it, you can't ignore it.
Avant-garde polymath Tony Conrad has, since the `60s, led trailblazing paths in the fields of minimalist composition, structuralist film, and arts education. Notable among his body of work is a brief tenure (in the mid-`60s) with LaMonte Young's drone music collective, the Theatre of Eternal Music. TTEM's sustained, long-form explorations into just intonation tuning systems impacted everyone from the Velvet Underground (whose John Cale was also a member of TTEM) to the underground fringe of Germany's late-`60s rock movement. Among the most visionary of the German groups were the Wümme-based hippie-art collective known as Faust; OUTSIDE ...
| | Nobody & Mystic Chords of Memor Tree Colored See CD (2006) Import
Guitars In Orbit CD music
$23.29 Nobody & Mystic Chords of Memory: Chris Gunst, Jennifer Cohen, Elvin Estela.
Though Nobody and Mystic Chords of Memory sounds like a quirky name for a band, it's actually a collaborative project between Elvin Estella (who records on his own under the name Nobody) and the duo of Chris Gunst and Jen Cohen, who record as Mystic Chords of Memory. Those familiar with their work as separate entities won't be too surprised by the way they sound as a trio: imagine vague but attractive melodies sung in a gauzy, slightly adenoidal 1960s male whine (multi-tracked for maximum retro-psychedelic effect) and underpinned by weird but highly effective loops and rhythm samples. It's those samples, with their strong but strange beats, that keep the proceedings from descending into insufferableness at several different points on the album: on "Broaden a New Sound" the halting, subtly dubwise rhythms hold your attention and help you realize how subtly pretty the song really is; on the quirkier and multi-layered "Decisions, Decisions," the juxtaposition of a wanky flute and a half-broken beat sets up a pleasing tension. Then there's "Klaw Prints," on which an acoustic guitar and a pronounced two-step beat (not to mention ...
| | Jeremy Fisher Goodbye Blue Monday CD (2007)
Guitars In Orbit music CDs
$7.69 Jeremy Fisher ignited a massive amount of interest with his homemade YouTube video for "Cigarette," a folksy, laid-back, self-deprecating number whose singalong chorus, "I'll be your cigarette/Good or bad, I'm just your habit," resonated with anyone ever caught in a less than reciprocal relationship. But as he repeatedly reiterates on Goodbye Blue Monday, his taste in women is less than stellar. From the gun-running girl of his dreams on "Scar That Never Heals" to the "American Girls" who are decidedly not Tom Petty's types, Fisher has a bit of a masochistic ...
