This is a DualDisc, which contains a CD on one side of the disc and a DVD on the other.
Released in late 2005, this formidable box set collects all eight Talking Heads studio albums, presenting each one in remastered DualDisc format, which allows for enhanced sound, bonus videos, and a slew of previously unreleased tracks. Given that the revered New York City proto-punk band's entire 1977-'88 catalogue was in need of a sonic upgrade, BRICK is a heaven-sent for the group's fans. Frenetic art-funk classics like "Psycho Killer," "Life During Wartime," and "Burning Down the House" are recast in pristine audio, along with worthwhile outtakes like the Afro-beat homage "Fela's Riff" and the ambient, down-tempo "Double Groove." Although some listeners may be content with a less-comprehensive collection, for the Talking Heads diehard this set is essential.
This set includes all 8 of the band's legendary studio albums, expanded and reissued as deluxe 2-sided dualdisc featuring amazing DVD-A sound, rare and previously unreleased bonus audio, and video tracks! The dualdiscs include the original albums on the CD sides with complete album in 5.1 Surround Sound, bonus tracks and video content on the DVD sides. Also included are complete lyrics and photo gallery. Albums include Talking Heads: 77, More Songs About Buildings And Food, Fear Of Music, Remain In Light, Speaking In Tongues, Little Creatures, True STories, and Naked.

| Average Rating: (4.5 out of 5 stars) (Sound of jaw hitting the floor...) Wow...Unbelievable...My copy of the Heads' new "Brick" came in last night and since then I couldn't wait to share my enthusiasm with anyone & everyone....My sensibilities lead me straight to "More Songs..." and "Fear Of Music"...Well, to say how good these sound in 5.1 Surround is not an easy task. The words have not yet been invented. But for what it's worth, Jerry Harrison and ET Thorngren have done a miraculous job. All of the revelatory sensations I have felt to date , with previous DVDA's and SACDs in my collection, pale in comparison to the ones I felt last night. Thank God for Talking Heads and thank God for 5.1 Surround. The two are a marriage of sheer inovation and uniqueness. Do yourself a favor, get the "Brick" and get a decent 5.1 system. Your life will never be the same again. Oh yeah, and the packaging alone is almost worth the terrific CD Universe price. Submitted by DGC (Toronto, ON, Canada) Was This Review Helpful? Great Job Jerry Harrison The sound quality is GREAT! Jerry Harrison deserves a medal. It is so good that it felt like I was hearing the music for the first time. This is an essential addition to your collection for Talking Heads fans or if you want to know what surround sound is all about. Submitted by mike (Danbury, CT, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Once in a Lifetime The sound quality is so good that it felt like I was hearing the music for the first time.
Remain In Light is must for anyone who considers themselves a music fan.
Essential music for our times. Submitted by rich eno (Southampton, Hampshire, UK) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
I didn't sleep for 24 hours WOW! I had read some less than complimentary things elsewhere about this box, but I'm glad I didn't pay any attention. The sound is unbelievably good - I am hearing these albums like never before. And although I have a nice DVD/Super Audio player, I don't have a 5.1 surround receiver or speaker set-up!!! So I can only begin to imagine what treats my ears are in for ultimately. I am enjoying the bonus material, too. Every disc has a couple bonus songs on the DVD side, either music videos or (my favorite) concert footage I had never seen. It is really classic stuff of the early days, with good sound and video quality. I've heard some squawking about the price of this set from friends, but it is WELL WORTH the price if your a Talking Heads fan who wants the best sound yet.
