(5 Customer Reviews)
Christmas albums, though charming in their own seasonal way, very often draw from the same tired repertoire. While Anita Baker's CHRISTMAS FANTASY has some old-timey favorites (like her moody version of "O Come All Ye Faithful," featuring the Yellowjackets), it is, on the whole, a different kettle of fish. The opener, a Dixieland swing version of "Frosty the Snowman" called "Frosty's Rag," is a case in point, as are originals like the smoothly funky "Moonlight Sleighride" and the lush title track. Baker's exquisite voice is in fine form throughout this unusual holiday offering that blends originality and tradition in fun, impressive fashion.

Anita Baker Christmas Fantasy Songs Christmas Fantasy Music Review Average Rating: (4.2 out of 5 stars) Don't Waste Your Money! The only redeeming quality on this CD is the musicians & not the singer. Anita's voice cracks so many times, I had visions of plumbers behinds! Terrible, terrible, terrible! great, great, GREAT!!! Growing up I never really liked Anita Baker's voice and only picked up this CD because I was in a hurry and needed to get some holiday music quick! However, I had no idea that I would enjoy this album so much! I love the way her voice and the music blends so well together. As a person who never really cared for Anita Baker, I must say that this is much nicer and better suited for her voice than the music I heard as a kid. Great job Ms. Baker! Fresh & Cool My first Review...Well, the Pop (even pop-jazz)market won't be hip enough to appreciate this holiday effort by a singer that blows away most of the singers in those markets (that are selling more records). Good arrangements and song selection. Mixing jazz, r&b and pop so they become one genre...please just categorize as good music! Submitted by tonygallomusicco (Lynn, MA 01905) Was This Review Helpful? Christmas Fantasy songs
$10.25 here's a bio according to the editor of Heckler magazine:What makes a band good? Raw emotion, high energy live performance, attitude, and of course, good songs. Sacramento, CA's Filibuster has it all. THE MUSIC Some call it urban rocksteady, or streetsteady. Filibuster stays true to their roots, relying on organic tones, hard hitting grooves and gut-wrenching, lip-smacking vocal melodies. Filibuster songs range from breakneck ska to deep reggae without sounding retro or losing cohesiveness, which is not an easy task in today's confused music market. Refreshingly raw, refined and exciting, Filibuster binds you into head-nodding spells, and makes you want to rush to see them live. With a sound evoking an emotion that money can not buy, it is easy to sense that Filibuster has blue collar sensibility and mad street credibility. Throw in a tasty, yes, tasty (not cheesy and overused) DJ and you have a band with a crucial sound. Bottom Line: Every Filibuster song makes ...
