rock and roll pure and simple When I first listened to this I also thought it was just okay. Pulled it out recently and it rocks. I agree the tune Dissapear it fantastic.....sort of like The Yardbirds on acid. Travers and Appice go together like rock and roll. Submitted by normbach (kansas city) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Great Straight Ahead Rock (even if it's covers) I don't know what these other folks listen to, but I think it rocks. It has me dancing around the room when I listen to it. Great rock'n'roll. Submitted by Brian (Edmonton, AB, Canada) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Well, I Think It Rocks!!! I am very surprised with the many negative reviews for this one. Pat may have done covers and re-makes, but this has a great rocking edge to it. Check out "Disappear" for instance -- this song is just flat out, straight ahead, blow your hair straight back hard rock!! Awesome!!! Everybody has their own opinion, and I respect that. My opinion of this cd is definitely 5 stars!!! And for those that may just be wondering what I know about Pat Travers, I own every cd that Pat Travers has ever made, so I am definitely a fan from the start of his career to now. I guess, maybe, to like this one you have to be a "classic" rocker. Submitted by S. Jenkins (Knoxville, TN, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Bazooka CD music
$13.69 What exactly makes a rock legend? Chances are you'll never get two identical answers to such a question, but one surefire quality is the ability to excel in virtually any recording or performing situation -- no matter how short a notice. And let's not fool ourselves, as long as it was rumored to be in the cards, the pairing of classic rock icons Pat Travers and Carmine Appice via 2004's It Takes a Lot of Balls was probably whipped together on a mutually convenient free weekend or two -- all 13 songs of it! Of course, seasoned pros (legends even, remember?) that they are, Travers and Appice treat every one of these songs as if it was their last, resulting in a sense of enthusiasm that ends up carrying the day as much as their unquestionable ...

Bazooka songs
$33.49 Of course, it is the group's chart hits that stand out here, and for good reason. The collection's title cut, and "Poison Arrow" (an early MTV video sensation) are near-perfect pop songs. Likewise, the lilting electro-ballad "Be Near Me," the Smokey Robinson homage "When Smokey Sings" (which appropriates the riff from "Tears of a Clown"), and the catchy bounce of "How to Be a Millionaire" push all the right pleasure buttons. A winner as both a hits collection and a comprehensive career overview, LOOK OF LOVE is the definitive ABC disc to own.
This deluxe Sound and Vision release of Look of Love: The Very Best of Abc comprises 30 tracks on double CD including all of the hits plus rare 12 inch mixes and two tracks on CD for the very first time. The DVD (PAL / Region 0) 'Absolutely Abc' includes 14 promotional videos mixed in 5.1. One of the defining acts of the early 1980's, ABC are still regarded as one of the most talented ensembles of this time and their first album The Lexicon Of Love is still thought of as a classic of the era. Included here from Lexicon are the brilliant tracks 'The Look Of Love' (UK No. 4), 'Poison Arrow' (UK No. 6) and 'Tears Are Not Enough' (UK No. 19). Other top 40 singles featured here include the Sheer Chic Mix of 'The Night You Murdered Love', 'One Better World' and 'SOS'. Often championed as the purveyors of perfect pop, ABC were formed in late 1980 by vocalist/songwriter Martin Fry and guitarist Mark White, with saxophonist Steve Singleton, drummer David Robinson and bassist Mark Lickley completing the original five piece line up. With a mission to re-invent disco music and make pop more ridiculous and less pompous the band were snapped up by Phonogram Records and less than a year later found themselves at No. 19 in the UK charts with their debut 45 Tears Are Not Enough (the demo version of which is included here) which highlighted Fry's dramatic vocal style to the full. Disc 2 contains a selection of the band's finest 12" mixes. The tracks "Vanity Kills - US Remix" and "The ABC Megamix" appear on CD for the very first time. Universal. 2005.
Recorded between 1981 and 2001.
