Based on an incredible true story, this film is a tale of nobility and courage that inspires, restores faith, and offers a lesson in the true spirit and meaning of Christmas. SILENT NIGHT is based on a true story about a young mother (Linda Hamilton from TV's "Beauty and the Beast" and the TERMINATOR series) and son who find shelter in a cabin in Germany on Christmas Eve of 1944. However, soon she finds that three German soldiers and three American soldiers also need a place to spend the night, and she manages to forge a temporary peace between the opposing soldiers to enjoy a peaceful Christmas eve dinner. Wonderful Christmas Story. Certainly in keeping with the message of Jesus. Yes, we go to war, but those who fight one another are people God loves. They are fathers, brothers, husbands, artists, bakers, teachers, etc. If a war can be stopped for a moment of time, then enemies find that those they are dedicated to killing are people like themselves. People who love or would like to experience love. In other circumstances they might be a friend, but realistically that is not going to happen in war. But it actually happened, though, in Germany. You found yourself hoping the soldiers would not kill one another after Christmas but would become friends. It was possible.

In an age when writers are giving us more and more immorality, crime and violence, this is a real breakthrough.
There was no woman raped, no dead bodies in the snow, no small boys taught to hate - just the oppoisite. Thank God for these kinds of true stories. I hope more writers will give us not only excitement but also edification.

This is a true story about a Christmas WWII miracle. It is thought provoking as well as heartwarming. It is one of my favorites and a heartily recommend it (for all the family).

Dominic (Scott Baio) feels torn between two worlds. In one world, he plays the ultimate, cutthroat, corporate tool - - complete with a sleek car and all the other trappings of the lifestyle. In the other world, however, he becomes a loving man who takes care of his two brothers, one handicapped and one a flighty actor. He also runs a baking company, and develops a relationship with Bella, an older, mother figure. He and Bella grow close, and she talks at length about her daughter Lucca and her long struggle to save enough money for Lucca to have a proper American wedding (though her daughter has no prospective groom). When Bella reveals that she suffers from a terminal illness, Dominic sees where his priorities lie, and searches for Lucca to try to make Bella's wedding wish come true.
