Seems like this was a vehicle for Anne Rule to be able to say "I told you so." Factually, nothing like the book qnd wrong on most points. Don't bother, buy The Deliberate Stranger instead.

4 stars A Closer Look at Ted Bundy
Let me get my complaints out of the way first. Of course I read the book first. I thought the book was excellent. I thought the movie left out a LOT of details - details that were very important. I noticed that a lot of the names were changed as well. I know names were changed in the book but the movie producers should have kept it more consistant with the book. I also felt that there were details added just to make the movie more interesting. From what I understand, Ann Rule only has a very brief encounter with Carol Ann Boone (different name in the movie - the woman who married Ted in the courtroom) and the movie shows her having several conversations with her. I though the acting in this movie was really good. Barbara Hershey and Billy Campbell did a wonderful job. If I had to bet money on it, I would say this was more like the real Ted than any other movie out there (Though I do love "The Deliberate Stranger"). I'm also a huge Ann Rule fan, so I just like to see movies based on her books done with the utmost accuracy.
