 | It is a good album Eventhough this was Crues most pop album it has great tunes and great songs, I've been waiting to get this editions and now they are available its a great thing By Jlsromero (spain) |
| Their best work With "Theatre of Pain" Motley Crue single-handedly created the hair-metal craze, and maybe that's why some people hate this album. But there's far more to this than just the look. Truthfully, this album is their best work. It's Heavy Metal, it's Pop, it's Rock and it's Blues. It's deep musically and lyrically. One of my favorites, and it belongs up there with "Number of the Beast," "Screaming for Vengence," "Love at First Sting" and "Blizzard of Ozz." | Painful Indeed I was so into this genre back in the day - I couldn't wait for this album to come out, after the success of "Shout at the Devil". Then this was released. My friend Chris literally cried. I sulked, then decided that my Crue phase was officially over. I can't think of a reason to buy this one - if you're hankering for an 80's hair band cd, consider Blue Murder or Black N Blue - much better. | Almost Complete S**te What an immense come down from the glorious high of the classic 'Shout At The Devil'. Before getting this, I'd heard 'Home Sweet Home' and thought it was one of the better ballads that I'd heard. But that gem aside, my god, what a pile of crap this CD is. The Crue were in such a bad state at the time that they even managed to ruin a great demo from 1982, 'Hotter Than Hell', turning it into 'Louder Than Hell'. Tut, tut, tut. The worst album of their career, undoubtedly. Avoid. By S J (Woking) This review is for a different format. |
| Evidence that the glam movement sucked How can you transition from "Shout at the Devil" to this? Granted, glam was "in" at the time, but the Crue could have gone their own way and stopped that ugly trend (maybe then Poison wouldn't have happened). Great music/riffs on Tonight and Love it Loud, BUT... this disc really suffers lyrically and kills whatever spirit the "Shout" album brought to life. Stick to the older discs - this one doesn't stand the test of time. By Scott (Sioux Falls SD) This review is for a different format. |
