Chuck Ferrari was born in San Jose, California. He currently residence in Bend, Oregon. His songs are about his travels and experiences all across the Pacific Northwest and other parts of the world. Chuck is happy to present his first album 24. Below are the stories behind the Chuck and the songs of 24.Story of Chuck: Part IIt's quite a simple story, really. Some of you know me as Charles, C.J., Chaz, Chucky, J-Ball, J-Town, J, Chewy, Se Jota, Chucky-Baby, C-Jizzle, C, Hollywood, Ferrar, The Reverend, Chuck-D, Chucks and Stud Muffin (okay, I made up the last one.
) Sadly enough, I probably forgot some names. Some are close but not quite Chuck. Chuck is a common nickname for someone named Charles. Before the onslaught of nicknames, I went by the my initials, C.J. Well, the educators at Oster Elementary in San Jose, CA thought I would never learn how to spell my name if I put C.J. at the top of my school assignments. What's a C.J.to do? In first grade you don't want to be called Charles? Charles was to proper, dorky, I couldn't go by Charles. So Chuck it was. So like a good little student I wrote Chuck at the top of all my papers. That's what I went by kindergarten through second grade. All the kids called me Chuck. But there's one, one kid who called me Chuck in a way that still leads to ridicule today. I don't remember her name, but everyday leaving class, right in front of whomever was picking me up, she would say, "Byeeeeeee Chuuuuuuck." The girl obviously had a crush on the Chuckster (hey, another one.
) That prompted my parents and siblings to sing in a taunting fashion the Rikki Lee Jones song Chucky's in Love. By now you must be asking yourself what's the point of this message.
Well, the point, or should I say theme, is a story. I like stories. I like hearing stories. I like telling stories.
Below are the stories behind the Chuck Ferrari: 24. 24 GuinnessThis is a song of drunken lust. During the summer of 1998, a few buddies and I toured around Western Europe. We ended up in an Irish bar in Barcelona, Spain...go figure. One of the traveling mob was lusting after a tall, gorgeous, redheaded bartender. After a few Guinness he asked her, 'What will it take for you to go home with me tonight?' Her response, 'Drink 24 Guinness.
