Christmas Album
$6.75 CCM sensation Point of Grace weigh in with their second holiday offering. The pristine harmonies of this quartet are as smooth and creamy as egg nog on an assortment of Christmas favorites, including "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year," "Jingle Bells," and a well-arranged medley that includes "pop" yuletide hits like "Frosty the Snowman" and "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer." Producer Brown Bannister--with his alternately sweeping and understated touches-- ...

| | John Lennon Rock 'N' Roll Vinyl LP (1975) Limited Edition
Christmas Album
$17.49 In the five years following the break-up of the Beatles, John Lennon established himself as a critically and commercially successful solo artist in addition to dealing with a number of private and public tribulations. Lennon eventually released ROCK 'N' ROLL, a batch of covers ranging the gamut of early rock classics from the '50s and '60s. Lennon threw ...
| | Elvis Presley Vinyl LP (2007)
Christmas Album
$15.15 When Elvis first broke on the national scene, nobody--not RCA, not Elvis' manager Colonel Tom Parker, and certainly not Elvis himself--had any idea how long his popularity would last. Most assumed that rock and roll was a passing fad and that Presley would soon be relegated to the "where are they now?" bin. Unsurprisingly, RCA rushed Presley's first album to market before Elvis had recorded enough new material for an entire record. The result, ELVIS PRESLEY, is a cut-and-paste job consisting of seven RCA recordings and five older tracks licensed from Sun Records, Presley's first label.
Still, this is a monumental record in the history of rock and roll, from its iconic cover (which ...
| | Plastic Ono Band Live Peace In Toronto Vinyl LP (1969) Limited Edition
Christmas Album
$22.89 This 1995 reissue of LIVE PEACE IN TORONTO, 1969 includes a 1995 version of the original John and Yoko calendar.
Although one of the world's best-kept secrets at the time, this was John Lennon's declaration of independence from the Beatles, the document of a concert appearance at Toronto's Rock and Roll Revival festival about a month after the conclusion of the Abbey Road sessions. Thrown together literally on the wing (they rehearsed only on the flight from England), the ad-hoc band consisting of Lennon, Yoko Ono, Eric Clapton on guitar, Klaus Voorman on bass, and Alan White on drums hit the stage to the surprise and delight of the thousands who packed Varsity Stadium. "We're just going to do numbers we know, you know, because we've never played together before," confesses John, who was reportedly extremely nervous before going on. But the repertoire ought to have been a cakewalk for a quartet of seasoned rockers -- blues-based oldies ("Blue Suede Shoes," "Money," "Dizzy Miss Lizzie") and basic recent Lennon numbers ("Yer Blues," "Cold Turkey," "Give Peace a Chance") -- and they lay it down in a dignified, noisy, glorified garage band manner. Lennon is in fine vocal form, confident and funny despite his frequent apologies, while Yoko confines her caterwauling to "Cold Turkey." That was side one of the original LP. Side two, alas, ...

$15.65 Considered by many fans to be the German duo's first classic album, 1975's RADIO-ACTIVITY marked a major change of persona for Kraftwerk. Cutting their hair, shaving their beards and dressing in plain suits, Ralf Hutter and Florian Schneider reinvented themselves as ascetic sound engineers as opposed to performers. Taking cues from minimalist ...
