The narrative unfolds in seven chapters, with a different woman directing each segment, in an experimental, improvisational technique derived from the Surrealist game Exquisite Corpse. Shy, bookish Cat (Lori Hamm) is trying to cultivate her artistic talents while harboring secret desires for her punk-rock housemate, Melissa (Candace Thompson). But when she meets an heiress (Sara Laudonia) who has just blown into town, their already volatile existence is overturned. Both girls develop relationships with the newcomer, while Dakota has an encounter with Lenny (F. David Roth), an unemployed actor. Meanwhile, their friendship suffers the pits and valleys necessary for evolution.
