Awesome, but not as good as Virtous Woman. Since I like listening to his Virtuous Woman CD so much, especially "Love Jah And Live", I had no doubt I would like this one even more. I was a bit disappointed. Sure, it's great, but he seems to sound more like a rapper than a smooth singer. Even so, I totally love the way he sings! I don't know how he gets his sound, but he reminds me of "a Male Marlow Thomas" (for those of you old enough to remember the TV show "That Girl"). As stated, I like this CD, but I can't say I LOVE it like Virtous Woman. Still, worth every penny and I'm glad it's in my collection! Submitted by hairball98498 (Tacoma, WA) Was This Review Helpful? | | Muddy Waters Folk Singer CD (1964) Remastered
Hold The Faith CD music
$8.49 Ultradiscs are mastered from the original master tapes using Mobile Fidelity's proprietary mastering technique, then plated with 24-karat gold and housed in a stress-resistant lift-lock jewel box.
"You Can't Lose What You Ain't Never Had" and "The Same Thing" did not appear on the original version of FOLK SINGER. They were recorded at a separate session in April 1964, three months after FOLK SINGER was released.
The title and cover photo of this 1963 recording were an attempt to cash in on the burgeoning American folk revival, but this is pure acoustic blues. Muddy began his career as a Robert Johnson-style solo acoustic performer, and the tunes on FOLK SINGER ...

Hold The Faith album
$19.95 KIRTAN! brings the ecstatic call-and-response chants of devotional bhakti yoga to home listeners. This eclectic mix of eastern harmonies played with western instruments will provoke spontaneous dancing and the desire to sing along. Jai Uttal leads a large group of participants through two discs of sensual, moving music. Traditional instruments are featured, such as the dotar, the tabla, and the African bells, among others. A kirtan is an active meditation during which a choir leader chants sound syllables that are then repeated by the group, a practice that can be found in the sacred music of many cultures and faiths. Uttal has assembled dozens ...

| | Jessy J True Love CD (2009)
Hold The Faith CD music
$14.69 The problem with attacking easy targets in order to make a point is that they're, well, too easy to attack. Take smooth jazz, for example. If one's premise is that smooth jazz in general is bland, mindless, and devoid of substance, it's easy to make that point by lambasting Kenny G, Richard Elliot, and other whipping boys of the jazz media. But when names like Grover Washington, Jr., George Benson, and David Sanborn are brought into the discussion, it becomes much harder to make the argument that nothing worthwhile ever came out of smooth jazz. And even though TRUE LOVE, the third album by smooth jazz saxophonist Jessica Spinella, aka Jessy J, has its shortcomings, it would be a mistake to dismiss her as a lightweight. Actually, TRUE LOVE has more ups than downs. Jessy's sound is Washington-minded, but with ...
