Destiny's Child were the biggest female R&B group of the late 1990s and early 2000s, with a superstar status rivaled only by TLC. Despite the media circus surrounding the strife between the three core members of the group, Destiny's Child managed to rack up an astonishing string of #1 hits, all of which are collected on the appropriately named #1'S.
Early smashes like the smooth, rhythmically stuttering "Bills, Bills, Bills," the moody mid-tempo slow jam "Say My Name," and "Independent Women Part 1" (the theme to the film CHARLIE'S ANGELS) are here, of course, as are later hits like their cover of the Gibb brothers' "Emotion" and the sweeping inspirational ballad "Stand Up for Love," the anthem for World Children's Day 2005. With their seductive delivery, elaborate vocal embellishments, and call-and-response dynamics, Destiny's Child cast the mold for urban contemporary R&B at the turn of the century, topping it off with a slick production informed by hip-hop. An overview that shows the group doing what they do best, #1'S is a testament to their reigning influence and superstar status.

The somewhat premature release of the top American girl bands greatest hits sure gets those feet tapping and those arms waving. From the impressive, upbeat sounds of survivor and bootylicious to the sentimental filled love songs of emotions and cater 2 U.
There is a song for everyone on this album whether it be the racey rhthyms of lose my breath or the classy funk of independent women. Miss Knowles song writing and production skills are fully illustrated with this fine collection of mature hit singles all on one disc. Let's hope Beyonce's solo work meets the high expectations she's all ready set with destiny's child.

 Always 50/50 with me and D.C.
For some reason, for every Destiny's Child song I totally LOVE, there is one that I absolutely HATE! I knew I would buy this album because I knew I would really enjoy half of it, and that's exactly what happened. But all the hits are here and so that makes it a really well-rounded compilation. For my money, the hottest jams D.C. has ever turned out are "Lose My Breath"(the best D.C. song EVER!!), "Bootylicious", Jumpin'Jumpin', "Say My Name", "Independent Women Pt.1", and "Emotion". Unfortunately they also made "Soldier", "Cater 2 U", "Girl" and "Survivor". Of the 3 new songs, "Stand Up For Love" is totally awesome. The other 2, "Check On It" and "Feel The Same Way I Do" would fall into the bad category. So, this disc is a front to back complete history of an extremely talented group of divas. My opinions mean nothing of course, except to explain why I gave the album only 3 stars.

SOLID HITS I LOVE IT
DESTINY'S CHILD IS BACK IN A GOOD AWAY WITH THE # 1'S ALL 16 TRACKS ARE GREAT AND GOOD THE HITS ARE FOR THE PAST YEARS OF DESTINY'S CHILD THIS CD IS A MUST HAVE GO GET IT I'M HAPPY THERE BACK BEYONCE IS HOT LOL JOKES.. DID I JUST SAY JOKES THATS NOT A JOKE LOL SHES HOT AND A GOOD SINGER DOSE ANYONE AGREE WITH ME....

This is a very good album that racks up all the hits that the ladies have produced over the years. If you are a Destiny's Child fan, you are going to LOVE this. You are also going to love the fact that they added 3 new songs. Stand up for love is just an awesome, inspiring song. Check on it is a hot song as well and so is Feel the Same Way I do. If you are not a fan, you are still going to love this because these are works of legends
