Elvis and Charles Bronson star in this 1937 film about a naive boxer and the boxin promoter who molds him. Walter Gulick, a sweet-natured country boy (who also sings), enters the fight game after discovering he has a killer punch. He rises through the boxing ranks, eventually getting a shot at the championship. But before the bout, a nefarious hotel manager tells Walter to take a dive, so he can make lots of dough. Will the song-belting boxer really go down? Or will he do the right thing and fight his heart out? A musical remake of the 1937 film with Edward G. Robinson. Here, a typically naive Presley stumbles out of the army and into the waiting arms of a boxing coach who molds him into a powerhouse fighter. But the King really just wants to settle down and start a family. Ed Asner's screen debut. $8.55 Elvis Presley stars in this vehicle tailored to his singing talents in a return to musical comedy after several turns in dramatic roles. Chad Gates returns home to Honolulu after a stint in the service. He shows little interest in working for his overbearing parents' pineapple plantation, much to their dismay. Instead, Chad finds a job as a tour guide and thereby gives himself a chance to dance with, and sing to, a variety of Hawaii's most beautiful women. Includes musical numbers such as "Blue Hawaii," "Rock-A-Hula Baby," "Hawaiian Wedding Song" and "Island of Love," as well as the immortal "Can't Help Falling in Love."

Kid Galahad review
$7.05 Based on the Pulitzer-prize winning novel by Michael Cunningham, THE HOURS employs Virginia Woolf's classic novel and central character, MRS. DALLOWAY, as its foundation and inspiration. Spanning three different eras, during one day, the film focuses on the parallel lives of three women joined in their depression, alienation, and search for love. Nicole Kidman, wearing a prosthetic nose, is virtually unrecognizable as the tortured writer Virginia Woolf whose ongoing battle with mental illness eventually led to her tragic suicide in 1941. The film begins with the moment of her suicide and flashes back on her life and work as she crafted her most memorable character, Clarissa Dalloway, in 1923. In 1950's California suburbia another woman, Laura Brown (Julianne Moore), struggles with alienation and depression. Trapped by her clinging young son and an adoring husband whom she does not love, the desperate woman tries to prepare for her husband's birthday ...

When his best friend is murdered, Powers self-destructively seeks deadly retaliation. He picks fights. He slaps women around. He roughs up speakeasy owners and tells them whom they'll get their hooch from and how much they'll order. Fists, kisses, and guns are the only things Tom knows. He eventually gets promoted to become the muscleman of mobster Nails Nathan (Leslie Fenton). But Tom's violent acts are about to catch up with him. After Tom guns down a cop, he's on the run. Later, thugs dump him, beaten, on the doorstep of his estranged and horrified family. It's only then that Tom realizes his decision to live the gangster life has been an irrevocable and deadly choice. Known as the picture that launched Cagney into stardom, THE PUBLIC ENEMY doesn't hold back from exposing the violence ...
