| | Kathy Troccoli Comfort CD Kathy Troccoli Discography of CDs
On 2005's COMFORT, Contemporary Christian singer Kathy Troccoli settles into a laid-back and inviting set. The arrangements here are surprisingly spare, with only piano, guitar, and subtle background vocals supporting Troccoli's warm, emotive singing. In addition to a few original songs (including the serene "Morningstar" and the delicate "When I Look at You"), Troccoli offers up a nice rendition of the Carole King classic "You've Got a Friend," a track that shows off the performer's solid interpretive skills. While the spiritual messages of COMFORT are clear, it is the music that truly stands out on this 12-song set, which is easily one of Troccoli's finest albums.

| | Cecilia Voice Of The Feminine Spirit CD (1999)
Comfort CD music
$15.39 Comparisons to Sarah Brightman of "Phantom of the Opera" and Celtic vocalists Enya and Loreena McKennitt are inevitable, but Cecilia has a distinctive vocal style that is uniquely her own. Her pure, bell-like voice is beautifully enhanced by the radiant backdrops of collaborator, flutist, and producer Tim Wheater. The program of strong material includes the traditional "Amazing Grace," augmented with whale sounds to create a plaintive prayer for them. Mike Rowland's "Silver Wings" is given a haunting voice by Cecilia with stirring results, and the album closes as it had opened with the Norwegian reading of Grieg's "Solvieg's Song." ~ MusD
Recorded at Marcus Studios, London.
Personnel: Cecilia (vocals); Raphael Preston (guitar, 12-string guitar, keyboards, background vocals); Tim ...
| | Glen Campbell Wichita Lineman CD (1968) Remastered
Comfort music CDs
$5.89 Digitally remastered by Bob Norberg & Rob Christie (Capitol Mastering).
The most eclectic of Glen Campbell's late-1960s albums, and his first number one LP, 1968's WICHITA LINEMAN runs from the orchestral melodrama of the title track--the signature song of Glen Campbell's entire career, apart from perhaps "Rhinestone Cowboy"--and the follow-up hit "Dreams of the Everyday Housewife" to a wide variety of covers in some unexpected styles. These include excellent takes of Tim Hardin's "Reason to Believe" (possibly the best of the many covers of Hardin's definitive original), a Dean Martin-like middle-of-the-road version of Sonny Curtis's "The Straight Life," and Sonny Bono's ...
| | Carter Family 1927-1934 CDs (2002) (Import) United Kingdom
Comfort songs
$25.79 A comprehensive budget compilation by the dependable JSP label, the five-disc 1927-1934 fully covers the first seven years of the Carter Family's musical career and features recordings that are the basis of the trio's honored place in the country music firmament. The set starts, appropriately enough, with the Carters' six contributions to Ralph Peer's legendary 1927 recording sessions in Bristol, Tennessee, and then chronologically wades through every released side that A.P., Sara, and Maybelle recorded for RCA Victor. (This excludes alternate takes that are readily available on Rounder and Bear Family reissues covering the same era.)
Unlike similar collections, where much of the listening intrigue comes from charting the artists' development, the Carters' sound is presented fully formed from the opening track, "Bury Me ...
| | Carter Family 1935-1941 Vol. 2 CDs (2003) (Import) United Kingdom
Comfort album
$27.35 British label JSP offers another of their fine budget collections on The Carter Family, Vol. 2: 1935-1941. On 129 songs collected on five CDs, this second volume in the series gives a complete overview of the first family of country music's later years. Legendary songs like "Can the Circle Be Unbroken," "Keep on the Sunny Side," "No Depression," "Single Girl, Married Girl," and "I'm Thinking Tonight of My Blue Eyes" are all represented, and the sound quality is slightly more even than on the first JSP box, The Carter Family: 1927-1934. ...
| | Lee Roy Parnell Back To The Well CD (2006)
Comfort CD music
$6.69 Originally from Abilene by way of Nashville, singer-songwriter Lee Roy Parnell carves out his unique brand of country soul on the funky BACK TO THE WELL. As the raunchy title track indicates, this collection is a return to the music that first inspired him. Sounding like a contemporary Lowell George on songs like "Just Lucky That Way," Parnell is also an expert interpreter of country ballads like "Old Soul" and jam band-style rock & roll like "Don't Water It Down" and "You Can't Lose 'Em All." The gorgeous, bluesy songs "Breaking the Chain" and "Saving Grace" give him a chance to stretch out with some soulful electric and acoustic slide guitar, while the swinging jump blues instrumental ...
| | Jaci Velasquez Mi Corazon CD (2001)
Comfort music CDs
$9.05 MI CORAZON was nominated for the 2002 Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album.
After singing at President George Bush's inaugural ceremony, Jaci Velásquez went into the studio to start working on Mi Corazón, including a romantic ballad called "Cuando Se Cura Una Herida," produced by Rudy Pérez, and the Latin up-tempo "Vaya Con Dios," leaving behind allegations of abandoning her Christian faith by signing up to a secular company. Billboard Music Award-winning Jaci Velásquez teamed up with writer/producer Desmond Child to get an album focused on her U.S. Christian and Latin fan base, ending with a ranchera version of the record's main title, "Cuando Se Cura Una Herida." ~ Drago Bonacich
