Half of the popular duo of Bebo & Cigala, the great flamenco singer's 5th solo album includes the guitars of Paco de Lucˇa, Tomatito, Raimundo Amador, Josemi Carmona, Diego Morao, Manuel Parrilla & Paquete. Other guests include trumpeter Jerry Gonz lez, Ram˘n El Portugu‚s, Yumitus, Porrina, Jua¤ares and El Pira¤a. The lyrics were written by contemporary poets as well as contemporaries of Picasso himself: Rafael Alberti, Javier Ruibal, Javier Krahe, Carlos Chaouen and Juan Antonio Salazar. Artistic spirits merge throughout, starting with "Chanelando", tangos with guitar playing by Diego el Morao and Manuel Parrilla. De Lucia's & El Cigala's voice evoke heaven on "Por los rˇos" (bulerˇas"); the famous poem "La Paloma" by R. Alberti is set to music by Josemi Carmona. The album also has the sole ("Acuarela", lyrics by Chaouen), alegrˇas and mirabr s ("Malague¤o", lyrics by Javier Rubial), the Latin rumba with Raimundo Amador's guitar playing ("Apenao") and tangos ("Guernika"). Asolutely challenging! A lesson offered of classic Flamenco by the top players, and an added touch of class-the poets, on the basic subjects of life are included, love, loss, happiness, pleasure. Then there are Picasso fans, all the players-such creative power contribute to this wonder venture. El Cigala demonstrates his confidence by his choice of collorators and might attain the top rung of the modern flamenco ladder. Listen with appreication, its good!!!!

Beres Hammond's career has traveled a careening course of fits and starts. His is an all too typical Jamaican story of stardom, with a slew of smash hits but little financial reward. Unlike most artists, however, with every rip-off, Hammond stepped back and tried to work out a new plan of action to better protect his interests.
