Given Sepultura's Brazilian roots, it's not surprising that the long-running thrash-metal band is met with unrestrained enthusiasm on this two-disc 2005 live set recorded in Sao Paolo. Although this performance features the group's latter-day frontman, Derrick Green, and includes formidable covers of tunes by Public Enemy and U2 ("Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos" and "Bullet the Blue Sky," respectively), Sepultura still blazes through many of its classics from the Max Cavalera days, including a fierce medley of "Arise/Dead Embryonic Cells."
Sepultura: Andreas Kisser (guitar).
Additional personnel: Jairo Guedz, Alex Kolesne, Ze Gonzales, BNegao, Joao Gordo.

oh no look, I really like Sepultura a lot. I didn't start hating them just coz Max left. Soulfly do OK, but no more or less than the current Sep. there are some great songs in 'against', 'nation' and 'roorback' but this live one makes me wonder if they are now done for. it seems to me to be an average performance recorded very badly. something is up when the intro is louder than the band. my fave song from the max-era is 'biotech is godzilla' and from the derrick-era it's 'sepulnation'. two simple songs, both ruined here. for some reason they cut 'biotech' in half by doing 'dazed and confuzed'... why? and then they turn the mid-paced 'sepulnation' built around igor's rumbling drums into a speeded up mess. 'bullet the blue sky' is worthy of some experimentation (to make it less like U2 please God) but no, it's a straight run through. If you need a Sep live album get Pale Grey Sky. I hope their next album is a brute but I hear it's gonna be a concept album. Oo-er. Submitted by captain tablets (worcestershire, uk) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Live In Sao Paulo album
$12.55 The fun(d)short project is the brain-child of Milwaukee based singer-songwriter Brian Karolewicz. Karolewicz is described by Milwaukee area music critic Jim Hanke as “a heart-on-his-sleeve musician with a gut full of emotion and a mind full of musical smarts.” Karolewicz began his musical journey in the Milwaukee area by forming The Robinson Brown Radio Show with drummer Steve Brukbacher. In 1997 shortly after numerous club gigs and the release of the car album, Karolewicz recorded the first fun(d)short EP simply titled fun(d)short: volume one. Critically praised, the fun(d)short project worked the Milwaukee and Madison club scene and released another EP in 1999. In 2005, while working in his home studio, The Shepard Sound Factory, Karolewicz recorded the largely acoustic based LP titled fun(d)short volume three: The World Needs Heroes. While mainly an acoustic LP, “Heroes” does have its rock moments thanks to Heathrow drummer Don Kurth, who drums on two of the LP’s thirteen tracks. Melodic gems “It’s Only Sleep”, “Meet the Explorers”, “Wake Up Paul”, and “Only in my Mind” will bounce around in your ...
