We know that there are no fish frys in heaven or smoking cigars, but its a good movie, the singing and the acting was very good. Most of all the Lord's name is not de lawd, I hate that.! It being an all African American movie it was good, but for the time thats how Hollywood saw black people, which I think was far from the real truth.

Perfect gift
Every BHM (Black History Month) my family exchange gifts about our heritage through books, movies, trading cards, etc. I thought this was the perfect gift for my Mother whom was born in 1936. To be able to watch movie with her and to see the smile on her face was PRICELESS

I have used CD Universe several times. Never have had any delays receiving product. The quality of CD's and DVD's is superb PLUS! CD Universe has DVD's and CD's from back in the day which I wasn't able to find until I stumbled upon CD Universe. I buy my DVD's and CD's no where else because believe me everything that glitters is not gold unless it is from CD Universe :)

Green Pastures DVD Green Pastures, The

And the best way to do that fixin' is from Old Testament stories narrated by the preacher, played by a black cast, backed by the joyful gospel sounds of the Hall Johnson Choir and based on Marc Connelly's folk-themed Pulitzer Prize-winning play.
Rex Ingram portrays de Lawd, who has a 100,000 things to do before any human's next breath - like instructing Noah (Eddie Anderson); taking counsel with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; or teaching Moses tricks to dazzle Pharaoh.
