Here For You album
$10.49 A HARD DAY'S NIGHT presents a fictionalized day in the life of the Beatles as they give a performance on a live television show. Filmed just a month after their appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show in February 1964, this film--the Beatles' first--introduces us to the unique personalities of each member of the band. ...
| | King Crimson In The Court Of The Crimson King CD (1969) Bonus Tracks
Here For You CD music
$102.39 Initial pressings featured a limited edition, cardboard-stock gatefold sleeve and unpublished archive photos.
KC's debut album introduced to the world a group that threw various '60s genres into a blender and set the results afire with a blowtorch. One of the pioneers of the progressive rock movement that began in the late '60s and flourished in the early '70s, King Crimson was arguably the most consistently creative band in the genre. On IN THE COURT they blend wispy, Donovan-ish folk-rock with Wagnerian grandeur, mind-bending heavy rock, and even a free- jazz sensibility. Greg Lake's vocals are effectively theatrical but more restrained than in his later ELP work. Robert Fripp was just learning how to ...

| | Daughtry Leave This Town CD (2009)
Here For You album
$15.45 When he was recording his debut album in 2006, Chris Daughtry didn't have the time to assemble the real rock band he so desperately wanted to have, so it appeared under the band name Daughtry without featuring any of the musicians who later became part of the group. That's not the case with LEAVE THIS TOWN, Daughtry's second record: all five members are glowering on the album cover, floating like specters over an abandoned Californian street. The five rockers serve as visual evidence that Daughtry is a band, not a person, and such reminders may be necessary because LEAVE THIS TOWN doesn't differ much in feel or ...
| | Sting If On A Winter's Night... CDs (2009) Digipak
Here For You CD music
$12.19 It's no secret that Sting is a serious man, so it's only logical that his holiday album -- his first new music since the Police reunion, not that it really matters -- is a serious endeavor, thank you. No niceties for him, no comforts of carols; he favors formal over familiar, writing madrigals, not ditties. It is music made by someone who lives in a castle, which isn't necessarily such a bad thing: the austerity is genuine, not affected, and the cerebral nature of the album is fascinating, albeit mildly so, as this is as sleepy as it is thoughtful. And it's that thoughtfulness that does distinguish IF ON A WINTER NIGHT...; no other Christmas album exists in the head like this. ...

Here For You album
$6.05 SONGS OF FAITH AND DEVOTION - LIVE features songs from the studio version in the same sequence.
Recorded live in Copenhagen, Denmark; Milan, Italy; Lievin, France; New Orleans, Louisiana.
SONGS OF FAITH AND DEVOTION finds the band reinventing itself somewhat via lyirics that largely abandon the bleakness of the band's previous forays in favor of cautious optimism and spiritual questions.
Depeche Mode's tenth album, SONGS OF FAITH AND DEVOTION, finds the band reinventing itself somewhat. Not that it'd been exactly treading water, but its ...

| | Trini Lopez Live At Basin Street East CD (1964)
Here For You songs
$9.95 Trini Lopez's fifth Reprise album continued his uninterrupted run in the Top 40 and marked a return to live recording after its studio-bound predecessor, The Latin Album. Lopez had a strong desire to make studio recordings, but Reprise preferred that he stick with what worked -- at least for a while -- although Live at Basin St. East would be his last live album for the label. An unusual ...
| | Sandy Denny Where The Time Goes CD (2005)
Here For You album
$10.59 This 13-song compilation presents early recordings by British folk-rock singer Sandy Denny, who is known for her solo work as well has her stint in the bands Fairport Convention and the Strawbs.
This collection includes the bonus tracks "Been on the Road So Long" (featuring Alex Campbell), as well as two 1968 songs with the Strawbs, "Two Weeks Last Summer" and "Who Knows Where the Time Goes."
It is astonishing that it has taken this long -- over 15 years -- to assemble the early Sandy Denny sides in one place, on the same CD, from proper tape sources and in their basic undubbed form. Across the decades most of it has appeared somewhere, originally scattered across several late-'60s and early-'70s LPs linking Denny with other artists, but this is the first time it's come down to listeners all in one sitting, the way it was recorded, without a platter change to be made, and no tracks given over to anyone else. The first thing that longtime fans will note is the extent with which the CD seems to overlap with innumerable Sandy Denny compilations devoted to her early work that have appeared in the past. The difference here is that the producer, Clinton Heylin, was working with a clearer idea of what was needed (and what he wanted) and better tape sources, and was thus able to give listeners something that is well-nigh perfect. And so it opens with an undubbed version of "Who Knows Where the Time Goes" by Sandy Denny and the Strawbs, and the CD also includes the companion recording from the same May 1967 body of work, her original rendition of Strawbs leader Dave Cousins' "Two Weeks Last Summer." For those who endured the dubious sound quality of Mooncrest's releases of Denny's renditions of "Pretty Polly," etc., this release also makes up for those imperfections and then some -- the sound throughout is close and crisp, with the lush guitar sounds on "Milk and Honey" and "My Ramblin' Boy" resonating out beautifully, and without a trace of a vinyl source anywhere. The first dozen tracks are effectively master takes, while the next six are alternate versions that are sufficiently different to impress more than just the obvious Denny completists, and the disc concludes with her duet rendition of "Been on the Road So Long" with Alex Campbell, in tandem with whom some of ...
