This album was Produced, arranged and mixed by German Ortiz for Don Nadie MusicNEWS: Sacha Nairobi's song "Princesa" has been included in the new compilation released by PUTUMAYO MUSIC on October 3rd/ 2006. The album is titled "RADIO LATINO" and Sacha's song is track #1 on the CD.Sacha Nairobi performed live at the album release party held at Nikki Beach, Miami on October 20th.BIOSacha Nairobi has one of those voices that make us tremble with love and desire, filling us with laughter and irony, knowing that life as it is, can be sung. She uses the same words we use when we speak but places them in her own special order, weaving them with music. Her messages of everyday life and intimate issues come from a woman of great sensibility, delivered in a festive tone even if they can make you cry. This exceptional album, a collection of intense tracks from a young lady whose life is surrounded with poetry, follows the path that her instrument (the Cuatro) leads her through. When it comes to her music, there are a variety of rhythms that move us; the festive ones, the melancholic ones, the intimate ones and those filled with the irony of losing a lover to a fake blond called “Raquel”. Her deep sensuality celebrates the joys of skin on skin touch in the songs “Que Rico Me Amas” and “Nadie Mejor que Tu”. Her moving song, “La Loteria” touches on a social issue that concerns those who have come to this country from other lands. Each lyric takes us there and brings us back with a delicious flow of melody. The music in this production is at the forefront of its genre. Each melody is unique and fresh, executed as a Latin symphony by a talented band lead by Sacha Nairobi’s tiny Cuatro. The Director is German Ortiz, an exceptional producer and the talent behind many hits by reputable artists. The first reaction as one listens to this work, is to smile from ear to ear. Unavoidably news will start traveling amongst friends “a girl named Sacha Nairobi has released an amazing album!”As if it wasn’t enough, Sacha Nairobi is also a real treat to watch on stage. Visually she is right there with you, practically bursting with the energy of each second of her songs. If there are complete albums made up of just hits, this is one of them, and each one of her eleven tracks is a great reason to listen and enjoy. | | Toasters Enemy Of The System CD (2002)
Sacha Nairobi CD music
$11.15 You've got to hand it to the Toasters. When the third ska revival hit in the mid-'90s, they had already been on the scene for over a decade, and bandleader Rob Hingley's Moon Ska NYC label was home to some of America's (and Canada's and England's) best ska bands. They took advantage of ska's new wave of popularity by releasing a truckload of albums by young bands, and while some have criticized Moon for a certain lack of discrimination during that period, there was no question that the Toasters' own releases were of the highest quality. With the subsequent collapse of the ska revival and the partial collapse of the record industry, Moon went out of business, and the Toasters went back to doing what they do best: playing top-notch 2-tone-derived modern ska for live audiences. Their first studio album in five years shows blessedly little in the way of artistic maturation; it's chock-full of the same old straight-up, R&B-influenced ska that the band has been playing since the early '80s. Blues influences are both explicit (as in "Sweet Home Town Jamaica," a blatant rewrite of "Sweet Home Alabama") and implied (as in the song title "Sitting on Top of the World," which has nothing to do with ...

| | Brian Chartrand Sleeping With Giants CD (2008)
Sacha Nairobi album
$8.55 "Listeners may be reminded of Nick Drake's deep plucking style by the opening track, "Sweetly, Gently," wherein listeners can actually hear Chartrand's hands sliding across the strings in chord changes. Vocally, Chartrand sounds like a cross between Dave Matthews and Radiohead's Thom Yorke, and his folky, winsome tenor blends nicely with the pastoral-sounding string solo and flute float-out that ends the song. It's quite a pretty little ditty. Other songs, like "Smiling Strangers," are a bit darker — this one's a folk dirge about the melancholy of forgetting, complete with icy keyboards and a distant guitar solo that sounds like it's trudging across a vast stretch of desert to pass out at our feet." Before I tell you about the recording process, I need to thank three people, who, without their help and assistance, this album would never have happened! First off, I need to thank Mr. Fantastical, co-producer, co-mixer, co-editor, and mastering dude. He was the man behind the console; tweaking knobs, adjusting levels, editing coughs. Not only is he skilled in recording, but he is funny as hell. Sometimes I am amazed we got any work done. Mr. Fantastical also wanted me to make the best album I could make. He wanted me to be proud of it. He also trusted my ability and encouraged my creative instinct. I have never worked with someone who so thoroughly respected ...
