This song is just brilliant. The verse about breast cancer and the effects of chemo is very poignant. A fab song with a great message.

Arie's "I am not my hair" is so neccessary; and we as a society need more affirming songs like this. Although many black women claim to be aware of issues of race and it's impact on aesthetics and self-worth, so few actually live a life continually challenging white supremacist, capitalistic patriarchy.
