Closed Captioned; Additional Footage; Soundtrack English; English Subtitles; Director's Comments; Dolby Digital 5.1 Re Full of the humor, mild humiliation, and bittersweet lessons of growing up, this coming-of-age comedy from Malcolm D. Lee (UNDERCOVER BROTHER) unfolds on the South Side of 1970s Chicago. Xavier (Bow Wow, LIKE MIKE) and his wisecracking crew of friends rule the local roller skating rink, but when it closes their summer looks to be an empty one. Reluctantly, they head over to Sweetwater, the glitzy rink across town where the rich kids skate, and where the cocky Sweetness (Wesley Jonathan) presides over all as the unchallenged king of the floor. The boys are ridiculed upon their arrival, and soon vow revenge at the upcoming competition, for which they begin to hone their skills. Meanwhile, X deals with his troubles at home, as his mother has recently died and his dad, Curtis (Chi McBride, I, ROBOT), struggles to make ends meet. The two attempt to understand each others' grief, and help one another to move beyond it. X also makes the acquaintance of new kid Tori (Jurnee Smollett, COSBY), a gawky girl with braces and a sharp tongue, who tags along with the boys as an ugly duckling, later to emerge a swan. Tori's hot mom (Kellita Smith, KING'S RANSOM) attracts a great deal of attention on the block, notably from two quick-talking garbage men (Mike Epps and Charles Q. Murphy in a hilarious bit part), and X tries to navigate his budding relationship with the seemingly-unattainable Naomi (Meagan Good, D.E.B.S.). The roller disco mania is infectious, driven by a great soundtrack featuring artists both new and old. The story, too, hits all the right notes, by turns touching and hilarious, with the underdogs-make-good story avoiding the saccharine, and giving Bow Wow the chance to shine.

Roll Bounce Movie Review Average Rating: (4 out of 5 stars) BACK IN THE DAY! It was a good movie, BOW WOW was great! I cried and laughed and DANCED! I love rollerskating and it just brought back memories of those SKATING DAYS! Submitted by traci0316 (East Orange, New Jersey) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
The sweet smell of nostalgia I have to say that since I am not a huge fan of Bow Wow's, I was skeptical about seeing this movie and truth be told if it wasn't for the fact that I have a 12 year who adores him, I probably wouldn't even utter the title. However, since it takes place in a time that I often journey back to with music, I have to say that this movie brought back all the essence of the seventies and what it meant to grow up in them. It was funny at times and then in other quite moving. I must give props to the young man(Bow Wow). He definitely showed and proved to be a little more than just your average rap artist. For anyone who wants to take a walk down memory lane or if you just want to laugh...this movie I recommend. Submitted by firefeenix73 (Tallahassee, Fl, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

| | Investigating History: Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid DVD (2005)
Roll Bounce video
$17.89 The lives of the last great American outlaws of the 19th century, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, have achieved mythological proportions, and it is difficult to parse fact from fiction. Multiple movies and books have been based around the story of the Wild Bunch, and the fact that the demise met by Butch and Sundance remains a mystery makes their tale even more fascinating. This original A&E special delves into the true story of these daring outlaws, following their outrageous exploits robbing banks and trains and forever eluding the authorities. Butch was known for his charm and big heart, and he and his gang fancied themselves as bandits of the Robin Hood variety, giving their spoils to members of the community who the banks had mistreated. Retiring to Argentina to become sheep herders, Butch and Sundance lived in relative peace until being recognized by a Yankee sheriff passing through. The outlaws were reportedly killed eventually in a shootout with the Bolivian Army, but much evidence supports the claim that Butch returned to the U.S., living out his days under an assumed name in Spokane, Washington. These and many more legends surrounding the Wild Bunch, a great American symbol of daring and excitement, is covered in this riveting program.

| | Imagine Me & You DVD (2006) Full Frame; Widescreen; Dubbed; Subtitled
Roll Bounce film
$9.69 A mainstream romantic-comedy with a twist, Ol Parker's IMAGINE ME & YOU stands out from the generic pack thanks to its gay-themed subject matter. The movie is as light and fluffy as the average movie in the genre, but as viewers scoop a mouthful of popcorn they may find their expectations subtly altered. Set in London, the movie begins with the wedding of Rachel (Piper Perabo) and Heck (Matthew Goode). Although they seem blissfully happy, Rachel is masking some Sapphic thoughts after eyeing Luce, the wedding florist (Lena Headey), during the ceremony. As luck would have it, one of Heck's male friends, Cooper (Darren Boyd), has fallen for Luce, allowing her and Rachel to meet socially and to consider consummating their desire for one another.
While much of Parker's film follows a rather formulaic romantic-comedy route, it takes a surprising turn when Luce and Rachel get together and have no intention of breaking up. A reunion between Rachel and Heck is never on the cards, and it's to Parker's credit that he wasn't sucked into ending the film with an affirmation that the heterosexual world is where his lead female character belongs. IMAGINE ME & YOU sees Hollywood taking a tiny step towards embracing homosexuality in a thoroughly mainstream movie, and for that it should be commended.

This collection celebrates the actor's best moments from the classic comedy THREE'S COMPANY. As Jack Tripper, he performed pratfalls that would make any vaudevillian proud. However, the actor was equally adept at delivering the show's many double entendres.
