After Billy's parents are killed, he moves home to care for his little brother Johnny, who is mentally challenged. Together the two struggle to deal with their loss. Meanwhile, Billy's best friend from childhood, Dean, has also moved back to town. Dean is recovering from injuries suffered during military duty in Iraq. The two friends reconnect, but Billy soon realizes that his feelings for Dean go far beyond a simple friendship. Billy both fears losing his buddy if this is discovered, and upsetting his brother Johnny. In time, the truth comes out - but the reaction is not quite what Billy expected.
