U2 planned to record a new EP before launching the European leg of their ambitious Zoo TV tour in 1993, but the EP quickly turned into the full-length album Zooropa. La Voz De Un Angel
$11.39 The Cinematic Orchestra: Eska, Heidi Vogel (vocals, background vocals); Lou Rhodes, Grey Reverend (vocals); Stuart McCallum (electric guitar); Tom Chant (soprano saxophone, tenor saxophone); Nick Ramm (piano, Fender Rhodes piano, synthesizer); Jason Swinscoe (keyboards, laptop); Phil France (synthesizer, double bass); Luke Flowers (drums); Patrick Carpenter (electronics, turntables); Vula (background vocals). Personnel: Jote Osahn, Antonia Pagulatos, Nat Jones, Patrick Roberts (violin); Stella Page (viola); Finn Peters, Paul Greenwood (flute); Gavin Broom (trumpet); Bob Dowell (tenor trombone); Lewis Edney (bass trombone); Jason Swinscoe (keyboards); Chris Kelly [Choir Practice], Everett Martin (double bass); Patrick Carpenter (electronics, turntables). Additional personnel: Heritage Orchestra. Audio Mixer: Stephen Hodges. Recording information: Royal Albert Hall, London, England (11/02/2007). Is Cinematic Orchestra leader Jason Swinscoe a model for the contemporary maestro, or does his surrounding talent illuminate the simplicity of his contribution? The answer after listening to LIVE: Who cares? This is a supremely moving piece of music that suggests the listener's foolishness for not being there. Swinscoe's expanded Orchestral ensemble allows him to segue from acoustic grace to flittering acid-jazz and back to a middle ground of soulful grooves guided by superlative vocals. The best part is, while it engenders envy, LIVE's intent is to replicate the one-of-a-kind experience in your bedroom, not taunt you for missing the show. As a venue, the Royal Albert Hall in London is the stuff of legend. It is so elegant it inspires greatness in performers no matter the discipline, as well as rapt and supportive attentiveness in audiences. Some of its past performers have included Frank Sinatra, a double bill by the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and Bob Dylan, to name a few. It therefore goes without saying that the weight on Cinematic Orchestra mastermind Jason Swinscoe to pull off something grand for a recording and video document of this CO performance was considerable. In order to accomplish this feat, he swelled the ranks of his group to over 40 members, ...
