Watch The Red album
$21.79 PLAYS LIVE (HIGHLIGHTS) are highlights from 4 different North American concerts between December 1982 and Spring 1983.
This is a Super Audio CD playable only on Super Audio CD players.
PLAYS LIVE is the sound of a man finally freeing himself definitively from the shackles that had bound him for years. Admittedly those shackles, being front man for Genesis, one of the most fascinating and consistently creative prog-rock bands of the early '70s, were hardly severe. But they were a constraint nonetheless. (How often could Peter take some fan screaming "Suppers Ready" when trying to debut new material?) Finally, with a substantial body of solo material (four albums, three of them titled PETER GABRIEL), Gabriel was ready to put the ghost of Genesis to rest.
And while he did drive a stake through his art-rock past, Gabriel's incendiary stage presence could not be distinguished. Luckily the live set captured here, which draws heavily from the SECURITY album, is consistently first rate and involving. Not content just to breath fresh life into road-weary veterans like "D.I.Y" or "Solsbury Hill," Gabriel reaches for new emotional heights on stellar versions of "San Jacinto," "Biko" and "And Through The Wire." As a bonus for completists PLAYS LIVE also contains the ultra-rare "I Go Swimming." ...

Watch The Red songs
$33.75 The Small Faces present their four disc U.K. import reissue release OGDEN'S NUT GONE FLAKE.
Having begun their career as the archetypal Mod band, the Small Faces latterly embraced traces of flower-power's whimsy. Astute enough not to sacrifice their identity, the quartet retained a distinctive perspective, as evinced by a string of superb pop singles, including "Here Comes The Nice" and "Itchycoo Park." A sense of pop melody and adventurism culminated on this album which encompassed tongue-in-cheek fun ("Lazy Sunday") and passionate love songs ("Afterglow"). Steve Marriott's voice remains completely self-assured and the group's characteristic organ-based swell is often enhanced by P.P. Arnold's emotional backing vocals. Eccentric comedian Stanley Unwin narrates the concept suite "Happiness Stan," but the music is strong enough to withstand the novelty tag. OGDENS' NUT GONE FLAKE was the Small Faces' swan-song, at least until an ill-starred reunion, but it proved a fitting end to a golden era.

| | Changing Faces CD (1995)
Watch The Red album
$9.09 On their self-titled debut, the harmonizing duo of Cassandra Lucas and Charisse Rose are striving to change the face of today's female delivered R&B. While they might be compared to groups such like Mel & Kim or Zhane, what distinguishes Changing Faces is their delivery of smooth, groovy love songs instead of the likely dance tracks.
With hip-hop firmly in control of the current scene, today's R&B lacks the slow rhythmic tunes that dominated in the '80s. But the vocal performances on CHANGING FACES reassure the audience that '90s rhythm & blues can be as smooth as ever. The softness of "Thoughts Of You" is enhanced by Darrin Whittington's piano work, while R. Kelly provides his trademark "bump and grind" for "Foolin' Around," "All Is Not Gone" and "Stroke You Up" (the duo's first single). Kenny "Smoove" Kornegay contributes the majority of the production, keeping the vibe of CHANGING FACES true to his own fitting nickname.
Live Recording
Producers include: R. Kelly; Kenny "Smoove" Kornegay; Devante Swing; Heavy D; Dinky Bingham.

$11.39 Hailed as one of “the best of the best in St. Louis” by the gateway city’s biggest rock station, this foursome of musicians have found a way to transcend stylistic clichés and still maintain a pop aesthetic, drawing comparisons to Smashing Pumpkins, U2, Radiohead, Filter and My Bloody Valentine. They strive to the level of bands that could delve into varied musical soundscapes while always retaining their unique sound, in a time when albums were works of art and not just a collection of numbered tracks. Critics are surprised to realize that Spring Clock Wonder’s “modern rock… with dashes of British art-pop and psychedelia” ...
