A long and relaxed European concert by Evans, who plays some of his compositions along with favorite standards like 'My Romance', 'Up with the Lark' and 'Yesterday I Heard the Rain', a tune he rarely played. | Live In Switzerland 197 Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) one of his best The Gomez/Zigmund trio captured on a good night with good sound. One of the best Bill Evans albums, and that's saying something! Submitted by david (dallas) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Simply Beautiful This music is gorgeous. Bill Evans is now considered by many to be the greatest pianist of th 20th century.
As time passes one concludes that there is no one who is his equal, past or present.
Wendy Toscanini Horowitz who was married to Vladamir Horowitz said, " Bill Evans could make my husband cry playing just one note. "
Vladamir Horrowitz once exclaimed, " I am glad bill did not choose the classical piano for I would have met my equal if not my superior. "

$13.99 This remastered, nine-track collection featuring legendary jazz pianist Bill Evans performing at 1957's Brandeis Jazz Festival includes "All About Rosie" and "On Green Mountain."
This oddly packaged CD compilation issued by the European label Gambit is a bit misleading, as it combines titles that appeared on several different releases, though none of the performances actually come from a concert. Most of the material is representative of third stream experiments ...

| | Luther Badman Keith Thunder In My Blues CD (2003)
Live In Switzerland 197 songs
$14.79 Luther Badman Keith is a Detroit, Michigan based bluesman who got started late in the game but has come on with a vengeance. Keith, who did not pick up a guitar until he was in his thirties and did not start playing professionally until he was in his mid-40s, has won legions of fans with a high-energy, no-holds barred performing style and some of the most creative songwriting and arrangements in the blues today. Think Robert Cray with a rocking edge. Keith counts as his influences the late Luther Allison, the artist who inspired him to play the blues, Albert King, Carlos Santana, the Doors, Son Seals and Eric Clapton. However, Keith's blues, while firmly anchored in tradition, break the mold by bringing a fresh approach to the music he loves. He doesn't write copy cat songs and he is not a copy cat performer. "No one is going to out B.B., B.B. King or out Stevie, Stevie Ray Vaughan, no matter what they might think," Keith says. "I'm trying to bring my own sound to the music and give people a fresh perspective like the others who came before me."I'm not into the guitar hero thing that seems to be popular with a lot of folks who like electric blues. To me it's much more meaningful and rewarding to write a really great song that gets people humming it, than it is to play a flashy guitar solo."The song really is the thing for ...
