Trombonists, wisely hidden from view, were placed in the middle of the ensemble and have learned to content themselves by suggesting to the vocalist which note might best distinguish her entrance.Invention Number Four; the Saxophone, evolved when an inquisitive member of the clan discovered that if one were to puff mightily through a length of straight albeit worm-holed vine discarded by a sackbut builder, one could produce a sound that would frighten the wolves away from the fire. It was called it a 'Cornet' until a trumpet player observed: "The name's been taken, Ogster. 'Cornet' is what we call a hormonally-disadvantaged trumpet. Call it 'Clarinet,' Man." Not wishing to piss off the trumpet player, whose leavings provided the rest of the tribe with chicks, he wisely acquiesced. Later, somebody bent 'em up and covered them with gold paint to match the trumpets. A caveman-cum-critic reportedly mused, "Close the Patent Office. It'll never get any better than this."The strong-arm goons, called "Band Leaders," in an effort to obscure the trombonists from view, shoehorned the saxophone players into the front row, each heavy-laden with their sopranos, altos, tenors, and baris. And flutes and oboes and bassoons and other stuff, with their reeds soaking in a gin-filled gourd filled because, saxophonists swore, "it makes everything sound better towards the end of the gig." Change is one of Michigan's finest underground emcee's to date. From age 13, Change has been writing lyrics and rapping in the underground scene. He got his first real taste of the industry in 2000 when he moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. He met up with a group of emcees intent on making moves, and hitting the studio hard-paced and serious. Over the next two years, he learned his craft in the studio, from mixing, to mastering, writing and recording... Change is a beast in the booth, commonly knocking out full tracks from start to finish in under an hour. He released a 5 track EP with his label-mates in Las Vegas in 2002 entitled "Elekt Poetz EP Vol. I" which was released to a widespread audience. His solo debut was released one year later, in summer of 2003 to great reviews, and consistent sales. He's hoping to do even more with his new release, "Tuesday Mournings".Many people have stated that Change is the next big thing in Michigan Hip-Hop, and he would humbly agree. "I think what I'm doing is hunger-driven, and purposeful. Too many cats are seeking money and fame, and I'm just trying to change the game for the better..." - ChangeChange grew up on the streets of Michigan, living the fast life, in street gangs and making bad choices. "I did what I felt I had to do to survive, feel me? I had to do me... But now that I'm grown, I see how it was wrong, and how I should have done things differently. If I can help other young cats see that by telling my life story through music, then that's good enough for me." - ChangeAlthough he's just begun making a small dent in the underground, Change's fan base is continually growing. Change's method of drawing in fans is " quite simple" he says, "I just do my best to be real. I let my fans get a glimpse of who I am through my music, and people can relate to me through that. Fans respect that, and they tell other people about you when they feel you." And indeed his fans have spread the word, as he's averaging over 100,000 plays a month on Soundclick alone. Change also rocked the mic at 24 different venues this year, including a Southern tour in Georgia and South Carolina. Quotes from Change fans: "Wow man...
