Ron White made a name for himself as a member of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, and he makes good on that name with his full-length solo outing YOU CAN'T FIX STUPID. Foul-mouthed, scathingly sarcastic, and surprisingly insightful, White holds forth on everything from the Mile High Club to Michael Jackson in his inimitable red-neck-meets-rat-pack style. Those with tender ears will want to steer clear, but comedy fans with a penchant for bawdy straight-shooting will get a kick out of YOU CAN'T FIX STUPID. A payoff from his role in the Blue Comedy Tour's success, the audience Ron White plays to on You Can't Fix Stupid is huge. The comedian, however, hasn't changed a bit. He's still that rare rambler at the end of the bar who's entertaining while shooting his mouth off at the modern world and getting scatological whenever possible. The laziness White projects has been supported by a slow release schedule that includes his appearances on the Blue Collar albums, 2003's Drunk in Public, a couple DVDs, and a bunch of shoddy reissues of his early truck stop albums that really don't match his later work. It's admirable that White hasn't exploited the Blue Collar breakthrough like his old record company, but the big payoff of this restraint is You Can't Fix Stupid sounds road-tested to perfection despite White's informal delivery. Sleaze and swearing are abundant and all the explanation you need as to why raunchy man was the only member of the troupe to sit out the too-safe Blue Collar TV series. The brash brute's best material is unquotable in mixed company, meaning You Can't Fix Stupid is a party record for Mom and Dad only, mostly Dad. With straight stand-up and no half-baked novelty songs to clutter the album, the only letdown is that like too many other 21st century stand-up albums, You Can't Fix Stupid is the audio companion to a DVD instead of an entirely stand-alone album. Regardless, it's a solid release in an iffy discography and the best audio introduction yet to his Johnny Walker Black-soaked style. ~ David Jeffries A payoff from his role in the Blue Comedy Tour's success, the audience Ron White plays to on You Can't Fix Stupid is huge. Funny, funny, (Texas style) I was so glad to buy this cd and be able to hear it...! Me and my wife had purchased front row tickets at the Clio Amphitheater, right here in our home town for his show on August 20, 2005. However the Amphitheater filed for bankruptcy in June and closed it's doors exactly one week before Ron's show..? Talking about being peed-off...! That I was.... But hey, his CD is Great and hopefully I will get another chance one day to see him in a live show.....?
Thanks Ron White for the smiles & laughs..

You Can't Fix Stupid
$10.45 Parental Advisory. From The Blue Collar Comedy Tour.
Recorded at Laff Stop, Houston, Texas. Audio Mixer: Donivan Cowart. Recording information: Laff Stop, Houston, TX. Editor: Donivan Cowart. Photographer: Pete Tangen. Ron White made his hay as a member of "The Blue Collar Comedy Tour," alongside fellow sons of the South Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, and Larry the Cable Guy. The show played to sold-out audiences in over 90 cities, with appearances on LATE NIGHT WITH DAVID LETTERMAN, Comedy Central, and CAROLINE'S COMEDY HOUR, where White crafted his self-deprecating comedic chops to a razor's edge. His debut album DRUNK IN PUBLIC is a hilarious delight. Unlike Foxworthy and Engvall, White eschews song parodies and instead goes straight to observational humor. With the sound of ice clinking in his glass of booze, raspy-voiced White rails against vegetarians and Hollywood fakes ("Ten Days In Los Angeles"), the problems with marrying into a rich family ("Married a Wealthy Woman"), and the pretentious in-laws that come with it ("Lug Nut Day"). White wraps up this tight package of laughs with "They Call Me 'Tater Salad'," a story that cleverly explains his unusual nickname and the title DRUNK IN PUBLIC.

You Can't Fix Stupid
$11.35 A star of the "Blue Collar Comedy Tour" alongside Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and Larry The Cable Guy, Ron White blends uproarious comedy with a deft talent for spinning a good yarn. The Texas native often goes by the name of "Tater Salad" (hence the title of this release), and proves here why his tours have grossed upwards of $15 million.

| | Larry The Cable Guy Right To Bare Arms CD (2005)
You Can't Fix Stupid
$15.65 Personnel: Larry the Cable Guy (spoken vocals). Recording information: Verizon Wireless Theater, Houston, TX (01/15/2005-01/16/2005). Photographer: Stephen Stickler. Brash, politically incorrect, and "one of the dumbest shows you ever heard" according to the man himself, The Right to Bare Arms captures proud redneck Larry the Cable Guy live in Houston in front of a rowdy, appreciative audience. It's a good time and -- considering the famous comedian's scant discography -- the best he's done on CD, with a wealth of material that hasn't been heard before. For every obvious Middle American-pleasing, crowd-rallying joke ("I was getting Michael Moore DVDs to put under my couch to make it sit level..."), there's that witty word-twisting that Larry's the Southern king of ("Is it Hank Williams, Jr. High School or Hank Williams Junior High School?") and that blue humor that either side of the political spectrum can appreciate ("I was with a midget hooker and gave her eight dollars to go up on me"). That's something Blue Collar TV-loving parents should know. Larry lets it all hang out when he's free from the tame television show, and while his language doesn't earn him a "Parental Advisory" sticker, the innuendo is heavy and will have junior asking "Why is everybody laughing?" The main part of the show goes by quick, with Larry rattling off the jokes at a Henny Youngman pace, while the closing song and the "kids say the darndest things"-style encore, "Toddler Mail," show Larry is more creative than a simple joke-teller. A step up from his patchy Christmas album and a hundred times better than his too-safe television show, The Right to Bare Arms is recommended to Jim Beam drinkers, NASCAR lovers, and anyone who loves plain old standup. ~ David Jeffries Following up the BLUE COLLAR COMEDY TOUR (which also featured Ron White, Jeff Foxworthy, and Bill Engvall), Larry the Cable Guy presents THE RIGHT TO BARE ARMS, his third solo outing. This disc clearly distinguishes

You Can't Fix Stupid
$15.05 One of the best-loved entertainers to come out of the UK in the 1960s, Anthony Newley has recently enjoyed a resurgence of interest, due in no small part to the likes of Jonathan Ross playing his music on Radio 2. Collaborating with composer Leslie Bricusse, he lent his lyrical skills to musical scores such as Dr Doolittle, Stop The World I Want To Get Off and The Roar Of The Greasepaint, as well as starring in films such as David Lean's classic Oliver Twist. He wrote, composed, directed, sang, danced and acted, achieving the highest accolades in all these spheres. Much of the music on this collection has not appeared on CD before, and it includes recordings of several of Newley's best-loved songs. Top quality remastered sound is taken from the original master tapes. 16 tracks. Sony/BMG. 2007.
