This rerecording of the Norwegian black metal band's classic 1996 album, which includes two previously unreleased tracks and a DVD, has all the nuanced aggression of the original, with some welcome updates in the addition of the formidable percussive talents of Mayhem drummer Hellhammer and a greater emphasis on guitars over the more keyboard-heavy original. The fearsome onslaught of "Antikrist," with its unearthly chorus and pulverizing rhythm, is suitably awe-inspiring, while the relentless attack of "Nar Sjelen Hentes Til Helvete" cements the band's reputation as one of black metal's most accomplished practitioners.
Norway's most prolific and infamous Black Metal band returns to take fans back over a decade in time to experience the extremely evil Nordic roots that sculpted their second full-length release, Stormblast. Fully re-recorded at Abyss Studios by Peter Tagtgren, this release is darker, heavier, and more intense than the original. Hellhammer of Mayhem is also featured. Also included are 2 previously unreleased bonus trqcks and a DVD containing performance footage from the band's dominating run on the main stage at Ozzfest 2004, plus a limited edition collector's patch!

+Luvvit, Dimmu+ + This album is a good buy...their kick-ass Stormblast cd re-recorded with a bunch of modern touches(including a WAY better quality sound than the origional; they're rich now i guess)...for some reason i lament the removal of that echo effect of his screams on "Alt Lys Er Svunnet Hen"...oh well..its not like i dont have the first Stormblast cd...i remember these dudes told Metal Maniacs they never do things for the fans, they do things for themselves, and this cd is no exception...that just makes me love them even more. All in all, you wont be disappointed with this cd, they added two new songs and the drumming owns you :) ...if you like OMC's "Vermin", you'll love this one, too + Submitted by __Witch_Of_Venice__ (Oakland, CA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? TNBM!!!! This album is awesome. One of the best ones Dimmu Borgir has released. I choose this one over the original. This album has nothing you wouldn't like. It has everything you need for black metal. The music is heavy, the vocals are harsh and dark. The lyrics are very anti-religous but who fives? Anyway a must have for any Dimmu Borgir fan. Or even if you've never heard they're music buy this album. Anything from scandanavia is a must have. I moved to Norway a few years back from the U.S. and became interested in black metal. Very good music. Kjøp dette albumet ved dimmu borgir. Hagl satan!!!! Submitted by Michael (Oslo, Norway) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Whats better, the album or the Bonus dvd? Dimmu Borgir being my favourite band right behind Amon Amarth, I can't decide wether the album or the bonus dvd is better as they both deliver Symphonic Black Metal to the listner. Dimmu Borgir rule along with Immortal and Burzum and all the others, the only false Black Metal I have heard is fcuking cradle of filth. Stormblast album
$12.85 In spite of straying so far from its black metal roots as to almost seem a completely different band at times, Dimmu Borgir still packs a powerful punch on Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia. New guitarist Galder (formerly of Old Man's Child) nicely infuses more traditional metallic mannerisms, but the addition of drummer Nicholas Barker (Cradle of Filth and Lock Up) is critical. His always-punishing percussive prowess allows the seamless melding of speedy black metal with considerably more orchestration, this time around provided by the Gothenburg Opera Orchestra ...
| | Dimmu Borgir Death Cult Armageddon CD (2003)
Stormblast CD music
$13.55 DEATH CULT ARMAGEDDON was briefly reissued with a limited edition enhanced bonus disc featuring video footage and five bonus tracks.
Purists won't call it black metal, but if one has to choose a sub-genre it'll do. The only other thing you can accurately call it is extreme metal. With DEATH CULT ARMAGEDDON, the Norway based Dimmu Borgir has synthesized the last 20 years of heavy music into one very coherent and terrifying album. Along with Emperor and Cradle of Filth, they have risen to the top of their own dark niche.
Like breaking into a haunted carnival at midnight, DCA assaults you with fear and surprise at every turn. Sound effects and atonal guitar harmonies in "Allegiance" set an evil mood; this is going to be fun, but scary fun. "Progenies of the Great Apocalypse" is the first glimpse of the live orchestra used to flesh out parts handled previously by synthesizers; few extreme bands have incorporated such ensembles so well. Finding beauty ...
| | Tales From The Crypt - The Complete Third Season DVDs (1991)
Stormblast music CDs
$32.69 Television executives plugged into viewers' deepest fears with the debut of TALES FROM THE CRYPT in 1989. Its original source material was the EC comic-book; the series originated on HBO and would go on to run for seven seasons. Hosted by the skeletal Crypt Keeper himself, each episode of the show offered a new, ghoulish tale to inspire nightmares in its audience. The show was such a success that a myriad of CRYPT-inspired spin-offs resulted, including an animated series, several ...
| | Darkthrone Cult Is Alive CD (2006) (Import) England; Limited Edition; Enhanced CD
Stormblast songs
$23.29 At a time when most of the first wave of Norwegian black metal bands are long gone, Darkthrone has become the senior figures of this particular subgenre almost by default; they're like the Rolling Stones of death metal. And much like the Rolling Stones around the time of Some Girls and Emotional Rescue, Darkthrone now seems to be caught between staying true to their original sound and adapting to the commercial marketplace. The album's first single, "Too Old, Too Cold" is easily the most immediately accessible song the band has ever done, sounding more like American hardcore punks the Misfits than anyone else, and elsewhere "Graveyard Slut" and "Whiskey Funeral" add to the album's punky feel. ...

| | Winterlong Valley Of The Lost CD (2001) (Import) Finland
Stormblast CD music
$14.59 VALLEY OF THE LOST is a 10-song CD from Swedish power metal band Winterlong.
Winterlong comes across more or less as a mix of bands such as Helloween and Iron Maiden. However, there are other elements here. In fact, some tracks call to mind Judas Priest. The music here is fast and technical, but still has an emotion and feeling to it. In other words, it does not come across as sterile. Indeed, this really does come across as quite inspired and original progressive metal while still giving the nod to other groups as influences. In typical proto prog metal fashion, the music is all over the place, encompassing lots of interesting ...

Stormblast songs
$12.55 Starting in 1999, songwriters Graham Perry and Kevin Kilgore joined with guitarist Sam Plumlee, drummer Bill Frazier, and Bassist Steve Hearn to form Tucson Simpson, a band whose style is an eclectic mix of Delta Blues, Commercial Pop and Southern Rock. The band has enjoyed success on the Memphis club circuit predominantly as a headline act. Drawing from experience acquired as a songwriter for Crutchfield Music, Perry (a PhD Candidate at The University of Memphis) penned a number of tunes for the band, six of which appeared on Martin Crutchfield's self-titled album released in the Spring of 2001. Kilgore (who wrote the premiere track off of the band's EP "Drawn ...
