This DVD is their first full length available, and gives not only a backstage pass to the band's experience, but also a sneak peek at 3 brand new songs that aren't available anywhere else. Included is the entire live set, filmed on the second night of the Never Sleep Again tour, headlined by Hawthorne Heights. The band takes viewers along for the ride backstage at ABC's Jimy Kimmel Live, and into the depths of the recoroding studio in New Jersey where one of their songs is born. The Ohio band Hawthorne Heights plays a bracing brand of emo rock that is equal parts post-hardcore and gentle melodicism. THIS IS WHO WE ARE offers an insider's look at the band through a collection of interviews; behind-the-scenes studio footage; clips from their appearances on the Warped Tour and the JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE show; and an entire live set filmed on the second night of the Never Sleep Again tour in October 2005.

Hawthorne Heights - This Is Who We Are review
$12.29 (MP3 Available for Download) In the liner notes preceding the lyrics to the title track of Anberlin's NEVER TAKE FRIENDSHIP PERSONAL, chief songwriter/lead vocalist Stephen Christian muses "you told me to 'write a song about it' so here's your song." That comment pretty well sums up this Florida outfit, a fiery rock quintet that lives earnestly inside of its songs. Similar to Jimmy Eat World, Anberlin is able to strike a balance between cerebral lyrics and universal observations, between artful compositions and hooky guitar riffs.
Like many of its peers on Tooth & Nail Records, Anberlin comes from a Christian-rock angle, but that trait isn't worn on the band's collective sleeve. While images of saints and sinners abound, ...

Hawthorne Heights - This Is Who We Are DVD
$12.29 (MP3 Available for Download) Mae's THE EVERGLOW begins with a spoken-word introduction that instructs the listener to read the accompanying booklet while listening to the album. The booklet includes the song lyrics and a series of whimsical illustrations (they have the feel of drawings from a children's book) depicting the journey of a young boy enduring trials and tribulations on his way to "the everglow," a state of love and awareness. The music, naturally, follows this same trajectory, from the delicate piano balladry of "We're So ...

Emerging as part of the post-punk scene of the late 1970s, members of the band Wire began as London art school students. This artist mentality could later be seen in their music, which while often labeled as "punk," also contained elements of prog-rock, pop, and art rock. The band found great success in the last part of the decade, releasing three wildly popular albums (PINK FLAG, CHAIRS MISSING, and 154) that helped to reinvent their image. With each album, Wire moved into new territory, pushing punk to its limits. ON THE BOX: 1979, the first in a series of Wire releases put out by Pink Flag's "archive research" project, compiles, restores, and repackages old footage of the band. The power of Wire's live performance is captured here in their only surviving television appearance from the 70s, on the German television show ...
