Standard Screen; Soundtrack English In 1998, a group of Tennessee schoolchildren embarked on a class project that would change their lives and impact those of countless others around the world. Responding to a history lesson about the Holocaust, the students began collecting 11 million paper clips (a Norwegian symbol of Nazi resistance) to commemorate each of the lives lost in the concentration camps. As news of the Paper Clip Project spread through the Internet, the children found themselves aided by total strangers in their effort to build a permanent memorial to tolerance and diversity in their schoolyard. Filmmakers Elliot Berlin and Joe Fab document the project in their documentary, PAPER CLIPS, for a moving testament to Margaret Mead's assertion that "a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world." Paper Clips Movie Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) I cried I saw this film on board the Regetta Cruise line last year when the producer was present. I was a wonderous film, which once again showed the uffering caused by a Christian German nation. I, together with 400 peope who watched this film cried, and cried, the most moving moment was whe at the end of the film in the Wagon that transported the jews to the camps, picked up 5 paperclips, and very slowly placed each one back into the box from wence they cam and said, slowly this one my grandmother, this my grandfather, and so on, at this moment the crying was so loud it was difficult to hear the end of the film. Later e were chatted to by the producer. A wonderful film to purchase, you do not have to be a Jew to appreciate this wonderful film Submitted by arramvictor (United Kingdom) Was This Review Helpful? $10.29 With the release of Robert Altman's M*A*S*H in 1970, a new form of comedy was born, one that would help to forever change the face of cinema. Altman's audacious film reflected the American counterculture's growing distrust of religion and government in the late 1960s and early 1970s, resulting in one of the biggest box office smashes of its time. Introducing the techniques he would employ throughout his storied career--overlapping dialogue, a constantly moving camera with a heavy amount of zooming, and a bold combination ...

$9.44 Don Cheadle gives a riveting performance as Paul Rusesabagina, the manager of a European-owned hotel in Rwanda, who created a secret refugee camp for the Tutsi people during the brutal genocide committed against them by the Hutu people in 1994. His efforts helped to save 1200 lives out of close to a million who were killed. HOTEL RWANDA shows this man's courage, while also capturing the political events that occurred between April and September '94. First, United Nations soldiers are restricted from fighting back against Hutu guerillas, even after the Rwandan president is assassinated and the country is thrown into chaos. But as the fighting worsens, all non-Rwandans including UN peacekeepers, Europeans, and Americans are evacuated. This leaves the Tutsi ...

$12.69 Billy Price has been thrilling east coast audiences with his brand of rhythm and blues for the past three decades. In his hometown of Pittsburgh, PA, he is an institution. Price's popularity isn't hard to explain. As Geoffrey Himes of the Washington Post has written, "Unlike so many blues revivalists, Price is not an imitation of older, better singers--he's the real thing."Billy Price first attracted national attention during his three-year association with guitarist Roy Buchanan. Price is the vocalist on two of Buchanan's LPs, That's What I'm Here For and Livestock. Price assembled Billy Price and the Keystone Rhythm Band in 1977. Before their breakup in 1990, the band recorded four critically acclaimed LPs and developed a reputation as one of the most exciting touring bands in the U.S.Price formed The Billy Price Band in 1990. In addition to performing popular songs from Price's years with Buchanan and the Keystone Rhythm Band, the Billy Price Band features new interpretations of blues, R & B, and soul classics. Funky...Funky Soul is a DVD of The Billy Price Band's 90-minute performance at the Belgium Rhythm & Blues Festival on July 19, 2003.Here are excerpts from some of the reviews of the show, which you will be able to view from start to finish on this new DVD:Juke Blues (UK), November 2003, Richard TappWe did get to see a good horn section though, this in Billy Price's band who played later on the Saturday evening. I only knew Price through his reputation of being one of the best blue-eyed soul men around. And he didn't disappoint; he's a terrific vocalist and has that microphone technique which you associate with the best black soul singers. Maybe he's learnt it from Otis Clay who he's played with many times...he really does put his heart and soul into his singing. Blues & Rhythm (UK), September 2003, Mike StephensonSinger Billy Price and his seven piece crew, including three brass, all out of Pittsburgh were a revelation indeed. He is a soulster of the blue eyed kind and his act was stunning. Pin point brass arrangements, truly soulful vocals from Price and some classy deep soul/blues material all combined to make him one of the big hits of the festival. Numbers such as "Nickel and a Nail," "Further On Up the Road," "Can I Change My Mind," and a goose bump raising "Your Time to Cry" were tremendous. A nod to Z.Z. Hill on "Bump and Grind" and "Love and Happiness" with the band sounding akin to the Hi rhythm section had one thinking that there could well be a deep soul revival under way if the crowd's very positive reaction to this man is anything to judge by. Back to the Roots (Belgium)...a lot more drive and spirit came from Billy Price. This ...

Paper Clips review
$10.29 A slick remake of the 1979 original, Simon West's WHEN A STRANGER CALLS is a contemporary update of a well-known suburban legend. When 16-year-old Jill (newcomer Camilla Belle in the part originally played by Carol Kane) exceeds her cell phone minutes, her parents force her to spend the night babysitting instead of attending a huge bonfire bash. As Jill's father drives her to Dr. Mandrakis's house for the evening, we are given the sense from the long drive, spooky music, and winding roads, that the home is literally at the end of the Earth. Perched over the edge of a steamy lake, the mansion-like structure is made entirely of dark wood and glass. With an arboretum built into its center, the palatial home feels both Zen-like and forbidding. With the children already asleep, Jill ...
