Digitally remastered edition of an album that was recorded and originally released on the Chess affiliated label Cadet. Not to be confused with the singer/actor, Eddie Fisher's distinctive sound, soulful approach and mastery of the wah-wah pedal never brought him stardom, but over the years they have earned him a devoted underground following. Rescued from undeserved obscurity, the original LP is a rare gem, this album is an unsung masterpiece of guitar funk.

Eddie Fisher (Vocals): Eddie Fisher (guitar); Richard Nedler (violin); James Matthews (piano); Raymold Eldridge Jr. (bass guitar); Johnny "Tub" Johnson (drums); Christina Fisher (tambourine).
Early 1970s jazz-funk, from a little-known guitarist who uses wah-wah pedal and post-psychedelic textures on an instrumental album that carries echoes of both early Funkadelic on tracks like "Either Or," and the Mahavishnu Orchestra's more pastoral moments on the lyrical "Beautiful Things." Eddie Fisher's fresh approach avoids both rock and jazz clichés in a compelling, bluesy style that's augmented by period-sounding electric piano and linear, BITCHES BREW-era Miles Davis-style arrangements.

5 stars Well somebody got smart!
I've been looking Eddie's music on CD for a while now. I wonder who the genius was that decided to release this masterpiece? Fisher takes jazz to another level. Eddie Fisher & The Next One Hundred Years is one of those rare moments in music that makes you wonder why isn't this on the radio? Who would would think that two totally different genres would mesh so well. Jazz and Funk? It really works here. Eddie Fisher has made a believer out of me. The jazzheads will like Land Of Our Father. But the funk/hiphop heads will like Jeremiah Pucket, Either Or and East St. Louis Blues. And for a real mind trip Beautiful Things is sensational!

5 stars Don't sleep on this one
I heard this album on college radio a few years back and could never find it. I'm so glad they decided to release it. Its kinda hard to describe. Is it jazz? Is it funk? Its all that and then some. I guess I would describe it as psychedelic and funky. Sort of a Sly Stone vibe with a mix of Wes Montgomery. Don't sleep on this one. Its well worth it to have in your collection. Peace!

5 stars In a class by itself!
I've been an Eddie Fisher fan for over 35 years. Eddie Fisher is one of those artist whose hard to categorize. Its jazz yet its so much more. The first track Jeremiah Pucket is so amazing. It starts of with a jazz intro it proceeds with a smooth guitar and bassline and then lets you have it with amazing funk! I like Beautiful things too. This track has the makings of genius. It starts off with a classical violin and then it gets into a mellow groove and again gives you a funky outro. This is a stunning CD! Don't sleep on this one. I hope they reissue Eddie's First album, "The Third Cup". It too must be in your collection.

5 stars Too damn amazing!!!!!!!
I heard this amazing album on the internet radio station Soul Sankofa and couldn't believe this was out of print. I tried to find it everywhere. Now its finally available. This is one funky record. The song I heard was Jeremiah Pucket. Its a blend of psychedelic jazz and funk along with some classical if you can believe it. Actually it defies description. You won't be disappointed with this one.
