| | In The Mood For Memphis, Vol. 2 CD
This is a compliation of songs with the word "Memphis" in the title.
In 2003, Inside Sounds introduced In The Mood For Memphis, a collection of Memphis-themed songs celebrating the city where rock ‘n’ roll was born. The concept CD was based on the fact that “Memphis” is mentioned in more song titles than any other city in the world. The recording generated tremendous local press and was commercially successful. In The Mood For Memphis Vol 2 celebrates Memphis with another eleven songs and promises to be another successful recording compiled by Inside Sounds. Keith Sykes & Reni Simon’s opening track “In The Mood For Memphis” sets the tone for this upbeat, rockin’ CD. The Beat Generation’s “Memphis Train” follows with another driving rocker. Jack O. & The Tearjerkers’ take on Mott The Hoople’s “All The Way From Memphis” is underground garage at its best. Jimbo Mathus, former member of The Squirrel Nut Zippers, shares his story of a trip to the big city in the clever “Memphis Bound.” While eccentric songwriter Wally Ford’s “Moose Of Memphis” is a somewhat bizarre tale, Chris Cain’s “Movin’ Back To Memphis” is a humorous blues perspective on someone whose girlfriend is lured by the bright lights of Beale Street. Veteran songwriters Bob Simon & Randy Haspell add some rockabilly flavor with “The Sun’s Gonna Rise Again In Memphis,” featuring Amy Lavere on upright bass and Paul Taylor on drums.Specially priced, this CD retails for less than $11.00 and includes a 6-page booklet with brief descriptions of the artists.

$18.99 The concept of praxis (what happens when people extend themselves to do good and how their capacity to do good increases because of it) has been on Justin Dillon's mind a lot lately, so much so that he has decided to do something pretty radical with Tremolo's first full-length album release. When the album, "Love Is The Greatest Revenge" comes out this summer on FLAGSHIP Recordings, he plans to funnel 50% of all of the record royalties into a benevolence trust fund. Yes, you read that right - 50%. Called the Love>Revenge Fund, through online voting, fans will be able to decide where the trust fund money they contributed via record purchase will go - be it cancer research, tsunami relief, AIDS hospice, anti-slavery operations, or the charity of their choice. Fans will also be able to gain exposure for the causes that matter most to them on the site. "Music has a way of welling up something inside of us to be better than we are," says Dillon. "And then what do you do with that? To me, it's like I've written these songs as a way to connect with humanity and hopefully uplift it, and I feel like it's the responsibility of the record to act upon that and to follow through on it." And uplift it does. From the catchy ...
