Before there was Dick Cavett the talk show host, there was Dick Cavett the comedian. His early career as writer for Jack Paar and Johnny Carson naturally led him into the world of stand-up comedy, where his contemporaries were the likes of Woody Allen and Bill Cosby. Cavett also developed warm personal relationships with people like Groucho Marx, Bob Hope, and Jack Benny. BIG TROUBLE IN NEKONRON, CHINA: A young Chinese girl named Lychee appears riding a flying elephant and carrying half of an ancient scroll; she is furious with the old lecherous martial-arts master Happousai because he gave the scroll to her great-grandmother, promising her it would bring her untold happiness and a marriage to a rich prince.
