Novodia album
$5.99 The finest example of perfect disco pop, and a record that should be prescribed to musical snobs and manic depressives. The album is a true ambassador of what pop music can be. Jackson whoops and dances through a suite of unforgettable melodies that should be danced to with a smile on your face. Each track offers at least one musical hook, whether it is the beauty of 'Human Nature' (who can resist the 'dada dada da da da') or the 'whoo whoo' of 'Billie Jean'. It's all too good.
Principally recorded at Westlake Audio, Los Angeles, California.

It's always a sign that a group is hot if they release a holiday album mere months after their debut. That's the case with *NSYNC. Their debut was released in America in late March, and in early December, Home for Christmas hit the shelves. Much of the album is devoted to newer material, with only a handful of songs qualifying as standards: "The Christmas Song," "The First Noel," and "O Holy Night." ...

| | Slayer World Painted Blood CD (2009)
Novodia songs
$10.39 Of the "big four" original thrash bands (the other three being Metallica, Anthrax, and Megadeth), Slayer was the least compromising and most consistent. As such, 2009's WORLD PAINTED BLOOD recalled more than the title of Slayer's 1986 masterpiece REIGN IN BLOOD; it shared the earlier album's ferocious aggression and trademark speed metal-meets-hardcore sound. Throughout, the sound ...

| | Irakere Misa Negra CD (1992)
Novodia album
$17.75 Includes 2 compositions by pianist Jesus Valdes and Dave Brubeck's "The Duke".
Irakere has been heralded as one of the best big bands in the world. Propelled by a driving rhythm section and potent horn section, this Cuban band won the Latin Grammy Awards in 1979 and 1980. On this 1986 recording, the band sinks its collective teeth into a few originals, including the 17-minute, four-part title track, as well as a cover of Dave Brubeck's "El Duke." In his liner notes, Luis Tamargo states: "The vigor of Irakere lies within each individual performer, and there are no weak loops in the band's musical chain." ~ Roundup Newsletter
Two centuries ago, the greatest African percussionists lived in a region called Irakere. Their descendants brought this music to Cuba and it formed the rhythmic foundation for Cuban music. The group Irakere was born twenty-five years ago as a means of self-expression for some extraordinary young musicians. By combining the power of the Cuban rhythms in their blood with the free-flowing expression of the American jazz they loved, they created a force that changed the course of Cuban popular music. Many great musicians have been a part of Irakere's history, such as Paquito D'Rivera and Arturo Sandoval, both of whom have gone on to fame in the United States. Many are still in the band, such as the great bassist Carlos del Puerto or the master of the drum set, Enrique Plá. New musicians keep joining, witness to the phenomenal musical abilities of so many young Cubans. At the center of it all is El Maestro, Jesús "Chucho" Valdes, continuing to compose incomparable music and to lead an ensemble that is second to none. Musical director and pianist Chucho Valdes is widely regarded as the greatest living Latin Jazz pianist, while legendary saxophone player Paquito D'Rivera and trumpeter ...

$9.75 Enfolds, transcends and reiterates the genres of blues, jazz and rock with masterful guitar performances and smooth, jagged vocals. Bud Summers has been imbued with a musical heritage. His mother was a music educator and was particularly fond of opera and musicals as well as classics by the masters. Bud's formal music education began with violin lessons at the age of five, piano at seven and he gravitated to guitar by age fourteen.
