| Swarm! Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) Even better than SFU Chris Barnes has really hit a home run with this "Swedish" type death metal band. Actually, they sound a lot more like Florida Death Metal, imagine sort of a sped up Commandment SFU sound and you have this band. Killer riffs, awesome drumming, perfect amount of melodicism without becoming too "Swedish", this is really a CD you can pound to. Chris' stinging is more aggressive than his SFU stuff, and it seems like this band became a (temporary) sort of outlet for him to get back to some of this CC roots (although it doesnt sound like CC much)
All in all this is band to watch, even without Barnes, they've got what it takes to make good Death Metal. Submitted by cardvamp (midwest) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Have to say........ This band right here is , well, pretty good!!!!! If you like old school death metal, with brand - new beats, then go get this one now! Barnes makes this look too easy! Put this in your stereo , and prepare to beat the crap out of whoever is with you, cause this album is one of the best to come out all year! Go Get It!!!! NOW!!!! Submitted by Relayer30 (Ft. Wayne, IN.) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Excellent!!! For a tribute band to get the singer of the band they were hailing it works really well. This is some of the most Melodic Death Metal Ive heard yet (with the exception for Opeth). Great stuff like I said again. Highly recommended for Fans Of Cannibal Corpse, Obituary and 6 Feet Under. Submitted by Karbide (San Antonio, TX, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Swarm!
$12.95 This is the album that started it all for Twisted Sister. With the group's classic lineup complete and producer Pete Way (of UFO and Waysted fame) at the helm, TS put to wax its early club material and in the process came up with one of the greatest hard-rock debuts ever.
"What You Don't Know (Sure Can Hurt You)," with its hypercharged metal riff, has been the band's concert-opener for years. "Bad Boys (Of Rock 'n' Roll)" is a testosterone-fueled singalong with a great hook and lead guitar lick. "Shoot 'Em Down," which received some airplay upon release, features the furious riffs and anthemic qualities that would characterize much of the band's material through the years. "Destroyer" is as heavy as heavy gets, while the title track was singled out by Tipper Gore's P.M.R.C. for being about sado-masochism and bondage (in reality, it's about guitarist Eddie Ojeda's throat operation). "I'll Never Grow Up Now!" is a rebellious ...

| | Focus Hocus Pocus: Best Of CD (1994) (Import) Netherlands
Swarm!
$21.29 Since the band has a seven-album strong catalog, each with many highlights, compiling a Focus best-of could never be an easy task. Fortunately, the people behind this release have done a super job. Although it includes none of the band's lengthy jams which made up the bulk parts of Focus III, Moving Waves, and Hamburger Concerto, Hocus Pocus is one of the best releases to highlight what Focus were all about. Featuring all of the hits and semi-hits the band were ever known for ("Sylvia," "Hocus Pocus," "House of the King"), as well as the fans favorites ("Focus [Instrumental]", "Harem Scarem," "Anonymous") this release highlights the musical ability and amazing songwriting talent that were part and parcel of Focus. There is, unfortunately, a little too much of the track listing hailing from the band's rather weak funk/rock album ...
| | Glenn Hughes Live In Tokyo CD (2002) (Import) Import; Germany

$43.35 Recorded live at Club Quattro, Tokyo, Japan on May 17 & 19, 2002.
Low Down Wizards and Joe Lynn Turner present LIVE IN TOKYO featuring 14 tracks including "You Can't Stop Rock N Roll" and "Ride The Storm."
As two artists who have worked with Ritchie Blackmore in the past -- Glenn Hughes (with Deep Purple) and Joe Lynn Turner (with Rainbow and for a short blip, Deep Purple, as well) -- it made sense for these two "Blackmore veterans" to unite, which they did as the ...
