$30.29 This CD reissue of a 1987 release finds England's number one instrumental group tackling a batch of old standards in their typical style. Tunes like "Black Is Black," "Stardust," "Ghost Riders in the Sky," "In the Mood," "The Lonely Bull," and "Good Vibrations" get the typical Shadows touch, and the inclusion of old favorites like "Nivram" (lead guitarist's Hank Marvin last name spelled backwards), "Quartermaster's Stores," and "Sacha" (a number one hit in Australia for Marvin as a solo act in 1970) make this a worthy ...

| | Danny Kirwan Second Chapter CD (1975) With Book; Limited Edition; Digipak
Marvin, Welch & Farrar / Second Opinion CD music
$19.79 The first solo album from Fleetwood Mac singer/songwriter Daniel David Kirwan has the future producer for Human League and Buzzcocks, Martin Rushent, utilizing those skills here, as well as engineering. The sound is crystal clear, and a feather in the cap for Rushent as well as Kirwan. It starts off with an uncharacteristic "Ram Jam City," which has more Lindsey Buckingham sounds than one would expect, especially since the two guitarists come from two different musical worlds. "Odds and Ends" is more lighthearted, the kind of music Paul McCartney toyed with on The White Album's "Rocky Raccoon." What Second Chapter immediately sets forth is the importance of Kirwan as a pop artist, and how, despite Fleetwood Mac's success after he left, his sounds could still have been beneficial to that supergroup. "Hot Summers Day" is a fine example of that, a beautiful song that could offset Buckingham's gritty ramblings. It would have made a nice counterpoint as Stevie Nicks complemented Christine ...

Marvin, Welch & Farrar / Second Opinion CD music
$20.25 As 'Colorado' as the Rockies, singer/songwriter Chuck Pyle has won the unqualified respect & praise of peers and fans for 30 years. Referred to affectionately as the Zen Cowboy, Pyle wraps his infectiously hummable melodies with straight-from-the-saddle poetry, quoting bumper stickers, proverbs, world leaders and old cowboys at his shows. When reviewers first gave him the Zen Cowboy label, he decided to, as he says, "ride the horse in the direction it's ...
