As one of the initial artists on New Orleans's Cash Money label, and a member of the Hot Boys (which also featured fellow future superstars Juvenile and Lil' Wayne), B.G. is something of a Dirty South lynchpin. A string of solo releases on Cash Money and other labels has helped maintain his profile, and HEART OF THE STREETZ, VOL. 2, follows up its companion, VOL. 1, in typical B.G. style.

B.G. raps on the usual topics here with his laid-back, laconic flow. At 18 tracks the album is a bit too sprawling, but guest stars Mannie Fresh, Webbie, and Paul Wall keep things interesting with their dynamic cameos. There is plenty of bumpin' production and lots of the swagger, menace, and brio Southern rap fans are accustomed to. While VOL. 2 isn't necessarily a leap forward for B.G., it holds his established name in good standing.

5 stars I thought geezy fell off...
i was wrong tho! he that comeback kid fa sho. this is the best geezy cd to date and i been listenin to him since his first album wit weezy "true story". i still find myself puttin this cd in my deck constantly and keepin it there a few days. i don't even skip any tracks i let it play from beginning to end. i can't wait till his new mainstream album come out "too hood 2 be hollywood". that album gonna be FIYA!!!
