| Consumate
Don't get me wrong, Van in his time has put out some complete & utter garbage, but not on this occaision. This album proves just what a true, consumate artist this man is as it is full of great performances of songs that should not & must not be reserved only for the likes of Chet Atkins, or Merl Haggard, or indeed be only performed in places like East Virginia or Kentucky. In his life, Ray Charles was known for his Blues, Jazz, Original songs, & Country recordings. Yet Van Morrison does this (and more)at least on an equal to brother Ray. If you get the chance to see him (like I did on march 29th 2006 in Manchester England)for the 18th time in 24 years, just go & you will know what I mean as Van is a man who can get hold of the telephone book & sing it. | Great New Album
As good of an interpretation of old country classics as you can get by one of the greatest singers ever. I was really surprised at how great this album is!
