Fittingly, the spiritual music scene is full of family acts, and BeBe Winans emerged from the preeminent clan of modern soulful gospel. For the longest time, the silken-voiced BeBe was content to be part of a larger act, whether singing with his brothers in the Winans or as a duo with his sister CeCe. However, in 1997, BeBe branched off successfully as a solo performer with his self-titled debut.
DREAM is BeBe's third album (not counting a live record and a Christmas collection), and it plays like the wanderings of a soul exploring his faith. | | Khani Cole Piece Of My Soul CD (1996)
My Sweet Lord songs
$17.89 With a four-and-a-half-octave range complementing her soulful charisma, Khani Cole is a timeless presence, sharing a vision of honesty and emotional resonance on her Farenheit Records debut, Piece of My Soul. Combining powerful originals with flavorful interpretations of songs made popular by Gladys Knight, Minnie Riperton, and Karla Bonoff, Cole eases effortlessly from R&B and jazz to gospel with a hint of blues as she explores the dynamics of romance from all possible points of view. Adding elegance and jazzy textures to her performances are all-star contributions by Brian Bromberg (bass), Joey DeFrancesco (Hammond B-3 and trumpet), and former Yellowjackets saxman Marc Russo. Produced by noted TV music arranger Kevin Stoller (who also plays keyboards), Pieces of My Soul also features Cole's regular bandmates, bassist Al Ortiz, pianist Claudia Bloom, and drummer Mike Florio, Cole's husband. Bromberg's lively acoustic bass intro eases us into the album's first single, the soaring, mid-tempo Riperton classic "Everytime He Comes Around," while Cole showcases her grand gospel inclinations on the funky, church-going "Sweet Inspiration," which features a blazing, ...

My Sweet Lord CD music
$15.19 With its self-titled 2002 debut, Kutless came out of nowhere to dominate both Christian rock sales and radio charts. In addition, the band toured relentlessly, playing over 200 shows all over the United States. It comes as no surprise, then, that the group's sophomore effort, SEA OF FACES, sounds like the work of a band both completely relaxed and eager to expand its boundaries.
The record explores everything from ultra-heavy, down-tuned angst-rock in the ...

This is stuff I didn't have room for on the actual CD, being as that I wanted to give everyone a bio with picture. 3 of these tunes have been done before, on a CD of mine called "Spring into Swing"(also available here on CD Baby): Lester Sleeps In, Maxine and One for Dad. If you listen and compare, you'll hear that they're done quite differently here- which is part of what makes jazz jazz. Finding one's own particular way to say it-which is going to be at least somewhat different from last time out. Anyway, got some terrific musicians here, and I know you're going to enjoy listening to them. So, for Perry, Andy, Kevin, Darin, ...
