| | Gilberto Santa Rosa Directo Al Corazon CD Gilberto Santa Rosa Discography of CDs
(6 Customer Reviews)
Puerto Rican singer Gilberto Santa Rosa has enjoyed massive success throughout Latin America and beyond for his particular brand of salsa. Santa Rosa is also a master ballad stylist, an area that gets plenty of attention on 2006's DIRECTO AL CORAZON. There are a few key uptempo tracks here, but those looking for a sustained batch of high-energy salsa may be disappointed. Nevertheless, Santa Rosa's rich, expressive voice is in fine form throughout this 10-song set.

Gilberto Santa Rosa Directo Al Corazon Songs Directo Al Corazon Music Review Average Rating: (2.5 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Disappointed!!!! If you are a Gilberto Santarosa salsa fan this CD is not the we have enjoyed in the past. Is not salsa, is not romantic ballads, I am not sure what he was trying to accomplish with the mixture of rhythms. The sound in several songs is low, his duo w/Rosangela is awful and the only songs worth listening are Isla del Encanto and Por la Herida de tu Amor. I wish I would haven't rush to buy it. Sorry Gilberto, but you have done better. To me this is the worst CD of his collection. Submitted by Liza (Huntsville, AL) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Bueno..Como Siempre! Gilbertico lo sigue haciendo. Excelente disco del Caballero de la Salsa. Mitad Salsa, Mitad Baladas, como quiera su voz es un encanto. Se los recomiendo. Submitted by Luis (New York, NY) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Only two songs are worth the money Gilberto Santarosa's last 3 albums showed that he can do Salsa music with capital "S" however this CD is trully disappointing. I still do not understand the Puerto Ricans salsa singers (I am Puerto rican) that insist in trying to be Pop ballards singer rather than tipical salsa singer. Gilberto needs new material as soon as possible to convey to everybody that he is "El caballero de la salsa". Nevertheless; you know Gilberto Santarosa has the power to cope over the media and make his album a fashion statememnt that will make everybody feel that buying his album is the right thing. this CD is not the Is not salsa, is not boleros, I am not sure what he was trying to doing or what he want this CD to be remember as maybe another "Fulana". The only GOOD songs are Por la Herida de tu Amor and Isla del Encanto. I regret buying this CD. Gilberto can do better than this. THE BEST SINGER, BUT NOT THE BEST ALBUM!! I AM PROBABLY THE BIGGEST GILBERTO FAN OF THEM ALL. I HAVE EVERYTHING THIS MAN HAS EVER RECORDED. BUT THIS PARTICULAR ONE IS NOT THE BEST I'M SORRY TO SAY. POR LA HERIDA DEL AMOR, HABLANDO CLARO ARETHE BEST OF THIS ALBUM WHICH IS MOSTLY BALADAS AND NOT HIS BEST EITHER. I THINK HE HAS TO GET IN CONTACT WITH OMAR ALFANNO AND TRY TO GET HIM TO WRITE SOME OF THOSE GREAT SONGS THAT GILBERTITO IS WELL KNOWN FOR AND IS HIS TRADEMARK. STILL LOVE THE MAN DON'T GET ME WRONG. Directo Al Corazon album
$7.69 Following the '90s, a decade in which she rose to iconic status amid the contemporary salsa scene, India was relatively quiet, releasing an album every few years or so, without all the fanfare she enjoyed during the '90s. Soy Diferente is one of those post-'90s albums, and like its predecessor, Latin Songbird: Mi Alma y Corazón, it arrived after a few years of inactivity. Its modest release belies its exceptionality, however. Soy Diferente isn't just another India album. It's different -- well, a little different. For the most part, the album does include the kind of slickly produced, exuberantly sung salsa that had long been India's stock-in-trade. For instance, "Solamente una Noche," one of the album's standout songs, would fit nicely on one of her many greatest-hits albums, where you likely wouldn't presume that the song was from 2006 rather than 1996. So, from that standpoint, the bulk of Soy Diferente is sure to please longtime India fans, who generally are happy to have more of the ...

Directo Al Corazon CD music
$8.45 This longtime salsa favorite -- with the help of a little reinvention -- tops the charts once again with his 2006 record, Salsa con Reggaetón. In an effort to synthesize the old and the new, the classic and the fresh, the Univision label employed the talents of top Latin music producers Ramon B. Sanchez and Sergio George, both of whom need only touch a project for it to turn to gold. Montañez, a veteran of the world famous El Gran Combo, a crown in the Puerto Rican salsa crown, collaborated with some of the island's new breed of recording stars. Reggaeton artists like Daddy Yankee, Cheka, and Voltio are just a few who lend their flow to Montañez's new sound, which he calls "salsatón." The tunes are fun and danceable, a great mixture of thick, live sounds and the ...
