| | Chris Brown CD Chris Brown Discography of CDs
Brown lights upon a clever formula here by combining edgy tracks with a sultry urban-contemporary delivery, and bringing to that mixture the fresh-faced innocence of teen pop acts. (In the photo spread inside the CD's booklet, Brown is dressed in what looks like a Boy Scout uniform.) Like Usher, whom he resembles in some respects, Brown's music is likely to make 15-year-old girls swoon, yet there is a vitality here (thanks in part to high-end production by Scott Storch, the Underdogs, and others) and a musical sophistication that promises even better things to come from this young upstart.
The first single 'Run It!; is exploding at radio & video outlets nationwide! The video was directed by Erik White, whose credits include Nelly, Petey Pablo, Fabolous, Ying Yang Twins, Trick Daddy, Jo Jo and more! The 'Run It!', video is in Big 10 rotation on MTV and premiered in the Top 10 on TRL! It is also on Hip Hop Confidential, in Very Heavy rotation on BET, and also on FUSE! BMG. 2005.
Based on the runaway success of his first single, "Run It!" it was clear that 16-year-old Chris Brown was onto something. The song, which rides a pulsing hip-hop beat with Brown's smoothly styled R&B vocals coming in over the top, shot straight to the top of the charts, virtually guaranteeing an ecstatic reception for his full-length self-titled debut.
Personnel: Chris Brown (vocals); Jermaine Dupri, Noah, Juelz Santana, Bow Wow (rap vocals).

| | R Kelly Untitled CD (2009)
Chris Brown CD music
$11.18 After his aborted, internet-leaked 2008 album, 12 PLAY: 4TH QUARTER, R. Kelly busied himself with guest spots for Beyonce, T-Pain, and Kanye West, even offering a free download on iTunes, "I Believe," inspired by the election of president Barack Obama. While such moves insured that Kelly would never stray far from the R&B throne he's occupied for more than a decade, his 2009 reboot of 12 PLAY, UNTITLED, should provide more than enough reason for fans to keep coming back for more. From Auto Tune-laden crowd pleasers like "Outta the Game" and "Crazy Night" to rousing club-oriented numbers like "Echo," Kelly downplays the slower "baby-making" jams this time around for a set of largely up-tempo songs, capped by a sultry collaboration with Keri Hilson ("Number One").

| | Pink Funhouse CD (2008) Explicit
Chris Brown music CDs
$8.99 Pink's insistently hooky, attitude-filled pop-rock has kept the singer a fixture on the radio and on singles charts since the early 2000s. The artist's fifth effort, FUNHOUSE, doesn't tamper with the formula: Pink's powerhouse vocals and in-your-face approach, backed by stadium-sized production, are in full effect on all 12 tracks. Even though the album deals primarily with aftermath of her divorce and includes serious moments of self-confrontation like "Sober," fans needn't worry that Pink has lost any of her chutzpah.
If anything, there's an increased sense of confidence and newfound liberation on tracks like the chest-thumping "So What" and the mischievous, bouncing "Bad Influence." In softer moments, like the ballad "I Don't Believe You" and the soulful "One Wrong Foot," Pink channels her personal experience into expressions that carry no less strength or muscle. But FUNHOUSE is a pop album first and foremost, and its catchy choruses, rollicking beats, and memorable vocal performances won't disappoint.

| | Jay-Z The Blueprint CD (2001)
Chris Brown CD music
$10.45 THE BLUEPRINT was nominated for the 2002 Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. "Izzo (H.O.V.A.)" was nominated for the 2002 Grammy Award for Best Rap Solo Performance.
"Song Cry" was nominated for the 2003 Grammy Awards for Male Rap Solo Performance.
It's official. With his fifth album, aptly titled THE BLUEPRINT, Jay-Z has crowned himself the king of rap music. Laying a foundation for other MC's to follow, Jay Hova presents a lyrical masterpiece. And to make matters worse (for the competition, that is), he does so over a selection of the tightest beats (Jus Blaze, Timbaland) to come by hip-hop since fellow Brooklyn-ite Notorious B.I.G. changed the game. Jay-Z sets it off with a clear and concise statement of his purpose, "The Ruler's Back." From then on, each track dares rappers who tried to test his skills to answer back this time. There's also the cleverly worded (sort of a) love song "Girls, Girls, Girls," where Jay calls out every type of woman in the book. He limits the guest appearances to just one when he collaborates with Eminem for "Renegade." As always, classic material proves why Jay-Z retains his iconic status in the hip-hop world.

$15.19 Sue Young's voice is powerful medicine, and her songs chronicle the journey to the heart. "River of Life" includes lyrics by the Persian poet Rumi, Vietnamese Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh, the Song of Solomon, an Islamic prayer, a Navaho chant and more. Talented performances and flawless production support the music."A beautiful, soulmaking album."Gerrie BlakeWomen's VoicesKUNV-FM, Las Vegas, NV"Many thanks for sending your great CD to me. Her mother played the piano, her father played baritone ukelele and tenor guitar, all five children played an instrument, and everyone sang. Sue started on ukelele at age 8, moved to guitar at 11, and has been singing and playing ever since. Music heard in her home while growing up included the Beatles, Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones, Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, Bonnie Raitt, Stevie Wonder, Jimi Hendrix, Stan Getz, Bach, and Rogers and Hammerstein. The Youngs moved around, but mainly lived out west- in Seattle, Washington, Salt Lake City, Utah and in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 1977-78, Sue spent a year in Quito, Ecuador studying at University of New Mexico's Centro Andino. It was a magical time full of adventure and learning. She traveled around South America and fell passionately in love with Latin American music and culture. She began performing in clubs around this time and continued after returning to the States. She worked as a solo and in a duo in Albuquerque and Santa Fe. She also sang with a trio that did folk music of North and South America, and with Govinda, a jazz-rock fusion band, where her vocal style was once compared to "Appalachian scat". In 1985, she moved to Austin, Texas, lured by the vibrant music community and beautiful living environment. Burned out on playing bars full-time, she began a series of part-time jobs and soon wound up teaching Spanish to young children, which she continues to do today. She's become a storyteller and has been on the Texas Commission for the Arts Touring Artist Roster since 1993. She has taken her bilingual show "Cantos y Cuentos-Songs and Stories of Latin America" to schools, museums, libraries, festivals and theatres around Texas and New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Colorado. The Austin years have seen Sue grow and mature as an artist and a writer. The Albuquerque Journal has called her "one of the most versatile, heartfelt singer/songwriters around." She's opened shows for such luminaries as Lyle Lovett, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Jesse Winchester and Kenny Rankin. Much of Sue's music has a mystical flavor. She sings in a church in Austin and has performed ...
