Vincenzo's life as a sculptor from Italy living in New York City is interrupted when his wife leaves the small island on which they grew up together and turns up on his doorstep. While he's been away, Vincenzo has wed another woman and impregnated her, leading to some amusing scenes as the two woman grapple for his attention.
